Work Well Winter Park is a movement spearheaded by the Chamber to improve the health and well-being of the workforce in our community.
Five, Three and One
According to psychologist Shilagh Mirgain, we have the power to make our work lives happier and healthier, and it comes down to three important numbers: five, three and one. So how do you turn things around at work?
- For 5 minutes a day, meditate
- Those 5 minutes of meditation can turn down the noise in our heads and allow our brains to de-stress and recover.
- Write down 3 good things that happened
- But the path to actual happiness may be a lot shorter - you can improve your mood just by focusing on three good things that happen to you every day.
- Do 1 act of kindness
- "The reality is when we feel generous towards other people we actually experience greater well-being and happiness," Mirgain said.
