BREATHE FREE WINTER PARK

The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and Park Avenue Merchants Association is proud to partner with Healthy Central Florida, Rollins College and other community stakeholders to launch Breathe Free Winter Park, a voluntary program that encourages local restaurants to offer smoke-free patio dining. The initiative launched last week and already has nearly 30 restaurants joining the collaborative effort.

City of Winter Park: Keller Williams� Winter Park Market Center in partnership with the City of Winter Park Fire-Rescue Code Compliance Section will host "REDDAY" Thursday, May 14, 2015. Agents and staff from the Market Center will be painting, making needed repairs, removing unwanted items, and landscaping two Winter Park houses for homeowners who are physically or financially unable to do so themselves. Renovations will take place at 678 Dunbar St. and 1019 Minnesota Ave. at 7:30 a.m.

 

Community Based Care of Central Florida: In honor of National Volunteer Week in April, Walt Disney World Resort employees sorted 29,000 pieces of new Disney-branded merchandise at Harvest Time International in Sanford. They packaged tote bags, tennis shoes and other items that are now being distributed to children and families. This donation is valued at nearly $400,000, the largest one-time in-kind gift received by Community Based Care.

 

Costa Communications Group: The PR and marketing agency was recognized recently at the Florida Public Relations Association's Image Awards banquet. The event recognizes outstanding public relations programs, and the awards presented are a standard of PR excellence in Florida. CCG received 17 awards for campaigns completed on behalf of its clients, including two of the top three awards presented.

Moore Stephens Lovelace: The certified public accounting and business advisory services firm, recently announced that Daniel J. O'Keefe, CPA, CFE, MBA has been named Shareholder-in-Charge of the its Orlando office. O'Keefe has more than 35 years of public accounting, governmental, and not-for-profit experience.

Winter Park Memorial Hospital:  Central Florida's first and only Senior ER is now located within Winter Park Memorial Hospital's main emergency department. The Senior ER features a multidisciplinary team including physicians and nurses with specialized geriatric emergency medical training, dedicated coordinators who provide support and connect seniors to resources in the community, a senior-friendly environment designed to promote comfort and healing and complimentary amenities such as hearing amplifiers, magnifying glasses, warm blankets and more.

The Winter Park High School Bands will present two concerts in May to finish the band program's 75th anniversary season.
