 Greetings!

Where does the time go?  I can't believe it's February already! Tomorrow the groundhog will let us know if it's six more weeks of winter or an early spring!  I'm not a skier so you know I'm hoping for an early spring.

I want to remind everyone that we are open later in the evening for mammography at our Waterbury location and later for MRI  at our Middlebury location.  Saturdays we are open in Waterbury for mammography, ultrasound and X-rays.  If you slip and fall while sking, shovling, ice skating, walking the dog or tripping over your own two feet we are there for you!  Also for you, are some chocolates available from Are You Dense!  Check it out down a little bit in the newsletter.

Happy Groundhog Day, Super Bowl, Heart Month, and Valentine's Day from all of us at DRA.

The Connecticut Center for Advanced Vein Therapy is a comprehensive vein care center offering treatment for all types of veins from spider veins, to bulging varicose veins, to veins with complications such as leg ulcers.  Director of The Vein Center is Duncan J. Belcher, MD and for the next few months he be answering
Duncan J. Belcher, MD
the most commonly asked questions concerning varicose veins and their treatment.
How can varicose veins be treated?
Endovenous laser therapy has been developed to treat chronic venous insuffciency by delivering laser energy through a small puncture in the leg to close the diseased vein.  No surgery is required, the entire procedure can be performed in less that one hour in our office.  During thte procedure, you are awake and your leg is anesthetized.  A thin laser fiber is inserted into the greater saphenous vein in your thigh.  Our physician will then deliver the laser energy through the fiber and into the vein, causing the vein to close.
The Connecticut Center for Advanced Vein Therapy (CCAVT) is located in the Middlebury office of Diagnostic Radiology Associates at The Turnpike Office Park, 1579 Straits Turnpike.  Consultations with Dr. Belcher and Dr. Eric Hyson are available by calling CCAVT at 203-758-1980.
