Dana-Farber/ Harvard Cancer Center (DF/HCC) DF/HCC Multiple Myeloma Program/Multiple Myeloma Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE)
Myeloma Career Enhancement (CEP) Award The Myeloma Program of the DF/HCC seeks applications for a Career Enhancement Award in Myeloma Research. Funding has been provided through a grant from NCI in the form of a SPORE, awarded to the Myeloma Program of DF/HCC. Eligible candidates are those who are in their final year of clinical fellowship or postdoctoral fellowship. A track record of interest in myeloma research is required. The applicant would become a member of the DF/HCC Myeloma SPORE. Women and minority candidates are encouraged to apply. Please contact Candice Hachey for application and Instructions. Dana-Farber/ Harvard Cancer Center (DF/HCC) DF/HCC Multiple Myeloma Program/Multiple Myeloma Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE)
Developmental Research Program (DRP) in Myeloma Award The Multiple Myeloma Program of the DF/HCC seeks applications for funding of research on myeloma. Funding will be provided through SPORE mechanism, a NCI program. While the proposed research can be basic or clinical, bench to bedside and bedside to bench strategies need to be addressed, since the purpose of this program is to promote translational research in multiple myeloma. Amount: $86,000 for 1 year Deadline: July 1, 2015 Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) 2015 Gloria Spivak Faculty Advancement Fund DFCI Office for Faculty Development (OFD) proudly announces the sixth annual Gloria Spivak Faculty Advancement Fund. The Gloria Spivak Faculty Advancement Fund provides funding to facilitate the ongoing research of DFCI faculty members who are at pivotal junctures in their career development and work-life balance. Faculty members eligible for funding are those experiencing a challenge in their work/life balance, which may be immediate or ongoing. An applicant should describe how the award would assist him/her in getting through this challenge. The award is not intended as bridge funding. Applicants must hold an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School (HMS) or Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH). | Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation Damon Runyon-Rachleff Innovation Award The Damon Runyon-Rachleff Innovation Award is designed to provide support for the next generation of exceptionally creative thinkers with "high-risk/high-reward" ideas that have the potential to significantly impact our understanding of and/or approaches to the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of cancer. The Innovation Award is specifically designed to provide funding to extraordinary early career researchers who have an innovative new idea but lack sufficient preliminary data to obtain traditional funding. It is not designed to fund incremental advances. Applicants are expected to commit a minimum of 80% of their time to conducting research. Amount: $150,000/ year for 2 years Deadline: July 1, 2015 Lung Cancer Research Foundation (LCRF) Grant Application LCRF is proud to fund research that we believe will make major contributions toward better prevention, screening, and treatment of lung cancer. LCRF grant must be the primary source of support for the project (additional secondary funding such as core services support is permitted). Applicants of all levels are eligible to apply. Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Awards Program Engagement Award: Knowledge, Training and Development, and Dissemination PCORI helps people make informed healthcare decisions and improves healthcare delivery and outcomes by producing and promoting high-integrity, evidence-based information that comes from research guided by patients, caregivers, and the broader healthcare community. The Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Awards encourage active integration of patients, caregivers, clinicians/providers, industry, payers/purchasers, researchers, and other stakeholders as members of the research process. Amount: $250,000 over 2 years Deadline: LOI; July 1, 2015
The LAM Foundation 2015 Fall LAM Research Funding Cycle LAM Established Investigator/ LAM Pilot Project Awards The LAM Foundation is the largest funder of LAM research, a rare lung disease that mostly affects women, outside of NIH. Applicants for LAM Foundation awards must have at least two years of research experience, and perform their work in a laboratory with established expertise in smooth muscle biology, genetics of tuberous sclerosis, or other LAM-related areas. Amount: Established Investigator Awards; $50,000 for 1 year, Pilot Project Awards; $25,000 for 1 year Deadline: LOI; July 15, 2015
American Association for Cancer Research (AACR)-Genetech BioOncology Career Development Award for Cancer Research on the HER Family Pathway AACR-Genentech BioOncology Career Development Award for Cancer Research on the HER Family Pathway represents a joint effort to encourage and support a physician-scientist to conduct cancer research on the HER Family Pathway and to establish a successful career path in this field. Eligibility is limited to junior faculty-level physician-scientists who, at the start of the grant term, will have completed their most recent medical residency or doctoral degree within the past 11 years. At the start of the grant term on October 1, 2015, applicants must hold a full-time faculty position. AACR membership is required. Nonmembers interested in this grant opportunity must submit a satisfactory application for AACR active membership by Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Breast Cancer Alliance (BCA) Young Investigator Grants The mission of the BCA is to improve survival rates and quality of life for those impacted by breast cancer through better prevention, early detection, treatment and cure. To encourage a commitment to breast cancer research, BCA invites clinical doctors and research scientists whose primary focus is breast cancer research, and who are in the early stages of their career, to apply for funding for the Young Investigator Grant. Applicants must have held a faculty position for no more than 4 years following completion of their training, as of February 1, 2016; have not been a principal investigator on an R01 or equivalent national/international non-mentored award; and dedicate at least 50% of their work effort to research. This grant is intended to help advance the careers of young researchers who do not yet have their own major grant support. Amount: $125,000 over 2 years Deadline: July 24, 2015
Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI)-Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-Simons Foundation 2016 Faculty Scholars Competition HHMI, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Simons Foundation are pleased to announce a national competition for grants to outstanding scientists as Faculty Scholars. This competition will strengthen the community of basic researchers and physician scientists who bring innovative approaches to the study of biological problems. Those conducting research at the interface of the biological and physical sciences are especially encouraged to apply as are physician scientists and others studying biological questions emerging from and applicable to global human health problems. Women and minorities under-represented in the biomedical and biological sciences are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must be tenured or on a tenure-track position as an assistant professor or higher academic rank. Applicants must have more than 4, but no more than 10, years of post-training, professional experience. Faculty Scholars are required to devote at least 50% of their total effort to the direct conduct of research. The Principal investigator or Co-Principal investigator must be on at least one active, nationally competitive grant, with an initial term of two or more years at some point from April 1, 2013 through July 1, 2015. Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation (CLF) Research Award Program CLARIONS Grant The mission of CLF is to support each person with cutaneous lymphoma by promoting awareness and education, advancing patient care, and facilitating research. CLF is committed to funding promising research that can lead to improved therapies and a cure for cutaneous lymphoma. The CLARIONS grants are the CLF's response to the urgent need for a research strategy based on multidisciplinary collaboration, rooted in innovation and in the imaginative use of technology, focused on translating basic discoveries into optimal patient care. Applicants at all levels, from clinical and post-doctoral fellows to established investigators, are eligible to receive awards. Amount: $25,000 for 1 year Deadline: July 31, 2015 The Lewin Fund to Fight Women's Cancers The Lewin Fund Research Grant The Lewin Fund funds innovative and prestigious women's cancer research initiatives and collaborate with comprehensive women's cancer support programs to improve the quality of life of women who are afflicted with gynecological cancer. The Lewin Fund invites novel laboratory research proposals and clinical investigations pertaining to women's cancers from investigators who aim to make critical headway in areas such as tumor biology, novel molecular targets, companion diagnostics, improvement in quality of life, and hereditary cancer genetics. At the time of the award, applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent U.S. residents, or holder of an H-1 visa with minimum of three years remaining. A J-1 visa holder does not qualify. | The LAM Foundation 2015 Fall LAM Research Funding Cycle Post-doctoral Fellowship Awards The LAM Foundation is the largest funder of LAM research outside of NIH. The Foundation also considers proposals for clinical trials, bridge funding, and special projects. More than 50% of the funds must be used for fellow salary support. American Heart Association (AHA) Postdoctoral Fellowship AHA postdoctoral fellowship helps trainees initiate careers in cardiovascular and stroke research while obtaining significant research results under the supervision of a sponsor or mentor; supports individuals before they are ready for some stage of independent research. Proposals are encouraged from all basic disciplines as well as epidemiological, behavioral, community and clinical investigations that bear on cardiovascular and stroke problems. Applicants must have no more than five years postdoctoral research training or experience. Time spent in clinical training is excluded. Amount: Up to $56,300/ year for 2 years Deadline: July 22, 2015
American Association for Cancer Research (AACR)-Amgen, Inc. AACR Clinical and Translational Cancer Research Fellowships AACR Clinical and Translational Cancer Research Fellowships represent a joint effort to encourage and support postdoctoral or clinical research fellows to conduct clinical and/or translational cancer research. Proposed research projects may be in any area of clinical and/or translational cancer research. At the start of the grant term on October 1, 2015, applicants must hold a full-time, mentored research position with the title of postdoctoral fellow, clinical research fellow, or the equivalent, and have completed his or her most recent doctoral degree within the past 5 years. AACR membership is required. Nonmembers interested in this grant opportunity must submit a satisfactory application for AACR Associate Membership by Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Any applicant who currently holds an active AACR grant may not apply. Applicants may submit only one application for the AACR Clinical and Translational Cancer Research Fellowships but may concurrently apply for other AACR grants. AACR membership is required. Nonmembers interested in this grant opportunity must submit a satisfactory application for AACR Associate Membership by Wednesday, July 22, 2015.
