Wong Family Award

PROFILE, DFCI's enterprise level study to test each patient's tumor for genetic alterations was launched in August 2011. After two years, approximately 19,000 patients have been enrolled and approximately 4,500 genotypes have been generated. PROFILE has utilized OncoMap, a technology developed at DFCI, which tests 99% of known cancer related genetic mutations. DFCI is applying this technology in a comprehensive manner to ultimately make personalized medicine a reality for all patients. This award will support the most meritorious, innovative, translational projects which utilize information from PROFILE to develop new diagnostics or therapeutics for cancer. Proposals that have broad implications and applications across disease groups in the areas of translational oncology or technology development and are applicable to PROFILE are solicited.
