Vail Gymnastics Weekly Update
April 25, 2016

Welcome Back Vail Gymnasts!
Vail Gymnastics would like to welcome all parent's and gymnast's back from the summer break!  We are so excited about the new schedule, the growing competitive and recreational programs, and of course we are excited to see all of the smiling faces again.

We are introducing some new and exciting things to our program this year. We have updated class lesson plans, star charts for skill progressions, and brand new class times.
For any children that attend classes at 3:00 or 3:30 p.m at the Gymnastics Center and attend school at Red Sandstone, we offer school pick up when school is released.

We now offer toddler and kids open gym's on Friday afternoons from 2:15-3:00 (toddler) and 3:00-4:00 (kids). Join us for some extra fun after school for only $10.00 for the hour. Punch cards available.
Class Schedules/ Registration
The Gymnastics Center has made some schedule and registration changes. All classes are now broken down into 10 week sessions. The first session runs from August 29th-November 4th.  If you would like to try a class before committing to the session, please schedule your first class with our office. This class will go towards your session if you choose to sign up.

You must register online for all class sessions via our website, vailrec.com/register. Class sessions will be prorated according to holidays or closures. If you do not enroll in a class session, you must schedule any one-time class drop-ins with the office before joining a class, as classes may be full.

A schedule for the next session beginning on November 7th will be released on Oct. 1st.

Gym Closure
The gym will be closed September 5, 2017 for labor day. Monday Classes have already been prorated for the 10 week session.
Recreational Gymnast of the Month!
Vail Gymnastics will be choosing a recreational gymnast of the month starting next month!  This award will be going to the gymnast that comes in the practice with an exceptional attitude and work ethic.
This is a new tradition we are starting here at Vail Gymnastics and we are very excited about it! The athlete of the month will be given a certificate for their accomplishments and an announcement will be made in their class!

Skill of the Week
Baby Giant!

The Baby Giant is performed on the high bar, and consists of a Cast, a Tap Swing, and a Pullover, all performed quickly and in succession.  Begin by casting, and immediately stretch the body as tall as it can go - eliminating shoulder and hip angles.  The body swings down, and around the bar, and then upward to a very fast Pullover.  The Baby Giant is also called a ¾ Giant, and is used as a stepping stone to a true Giant.
