VRD OFFERS GOOD KARMA AND EXTRA MTB SERIES POINTS FOR TRAIL WORK
(Vail, Colo.) - The Vail Recreation District is a proud supporter of Eagle County trails and the organizations that work hard to maintain them. It is important to remember that riding and racing on world-class trails is a privilege and our trails do not build or maintain themselves. This year, during the Athletic Club at the Westin Mountain Bike Series, riders can earn an additional 25 points towards their overall series total if they participate in one trail work event prior to August 22. In order to be considered, participants must snap a photo of themselves during the event and tag the Vail Recreation District Facebook page, as well as either the VVMBA or the HTC Facebook page (depending on the host). For more information, please contact Beth Pappas or call the VRD Sports Department at 970-479-2280. Upcoming events hosted by the VVMBA and the HTC are listed below.

VVMBA is in the process of completely rerouting the top and central section of the Berry Creek Trail in Edwards, Colo. into a new, sustainable single track. The VVMBA will meet on "non-VRD race week" Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. at the bottom of Berry Creek Road in Edwards (just north of the Edwards Medical Center). From there, carpools will be arranged up in 4WD vehicles to the top of the Berry Creek Trail and participants can then hike down to the work area. If you arrive late, you can drive up yourself (4WD recommended), or you can ride your bike up and hike or bike down the trail until you find us. Tools will be available near the worksite. Bring water, snacks, gloves, hard-sole boots, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen and be ready for a fun, productive evening.
