VAIL RECREATION DISTRICT WELCOMES NEW YOGA INSTRUCTOR ANNE ANDERSON TO COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING

(Vail) - The Vail Recreation District is pleased to welcome yoga teacher Anne Anderson to the Community Programming team this fall. Anderson will be teaching the Gentle Yoga Class from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays in the Community Programming space, located on the second floor of the Lionshead Welcome Center.

Anderson is a Kripalu Yoga teacher, registered with Yoga Alliance and a Professional Ski Instructor of America at Vail. She is the founder of SNOWGA, blending yoga and snowsports, a new, mindful practice on the mountain designed to tame fears and improve skills through the wisdom of yoga.

Kripalu is a Sanskrit word meaning compassion. This traditional Hatha yoga practice cultivates self-discovery, self-nurturing and self-healing. Through the breath and movement, practitioners experience a meditative and contemplative journey inward. "I am honored to share these teachings with the Vail community," says Anderson. "There are so many health benefits including greater well-being, awareness, mindfulness and oneness."

In addition to the Gentle Yoga class, the Community Programming Center continues to host Aikido classes from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, as well as TRX Suspension Training from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. Children's Art and Paint your own Pottery are also offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
