From our Pastors...
An Invitation to Women To Know our King

By Cyndi Harrington,
Director of Women's Ministry

"You are My witnesses" declares the Lord, "and My servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He"...
Isaiah 43:10.

My husband Mike and I recently watched a movie about the life of Princess Grace of Monaco (April 30, 1956 - Sept. 13, 1982). At the age of 27 she left her Hollywood home in America, and all she was familiar with, and married the Prince of Monaco. Needless to say, her life radically changed! I was inspired by how she realized her role and how she immersed herself in the reality of who and what she was--the bride of a Prince! However, in her new life it took her a number years to "get it" so to speak. What spoke to me was the fact that when she did "get it" she resolved to know her prince, his kingdom and the ways of her new home.

The story is an earthly one, yet filled with spiritual analogies for me. Listen to Isaiah 43:10. "You are My witnesses" declares the Lord, "and My servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He"... Take the time to read through this amazing passage. The fact that our King of Kings, our Prince of Peace, desires us to know Him-it just doesn't get any sweeter than that!

We offer many good things here at TCF that help us to think like our King. You may not be able to attend more than our weekly Bible studies. We know that life can be so full. But if you are able there are smaller gatherings, opportunities to meet and bond with other "princesses", and grow corporately and individually in the knowledge and love of our King.

In his devotional study of the Song of Solomon Hudson Taylor writes, "It is through the bride that attention is drawn to the Bridegroom; their union and communion are now open and manifest. In all trust and confiding love she is seen leaning upon her Beloved. He is her strength, her joy, her pride, and her prize, the object of His most tender care..."

Consider this a heartfelt invitation from me personally to join us in our Women's Bible Study, Fall Retreat, Single Ladies Dinner, Moms Group, or any of our special events. You will find more information on our Women's Ministry at the TCF website, www.trail.org/women

My love to you all,
Cyndi Harrington,
Director of Women's Ministry

You have to live in this world. But if you want to be God's man, there's a catch: You can't be absorbed or influenced by the world. You have to stand strong as a man of God and resist the world. Men like you, who are getting serious about their walk with God, feel a deep, intuitive conflict of the soul. . .where unholy alliances with the world, which were once acceptable, must now be broken. That's not easy. But here's solid, trustworthy guidance for you from men who have been there, too. In "Being God's Man by Resisting the World," you'll take a look at Christ's template of values as revealed in the Sermon on the Mount. Every man who seeks to understand and train in these values will experience a greater connection with God. So forget what you know, focus on these truths, and start living large spiritually.

In Closing...
Those who trust in the
Lord are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds His people both now and forevermore.
The scepter of the wicked will not remain
over the land allotted to the righteous,
for then the righteous might use their hands to do evil.

Psalm 125:1-3
