Heavy Rainfall Kills 33

Some rivers were at 100-year flood stages as rains continued to fall on southern China over the weekend. Guangdong was the worst hit province. 33 people have died, according to state media. Video

Satellite-Intercepting Missles?

A suspicious rocket launch has caught the Pentagon's attention. China's Foreign Ministry stated it was just a scientific instrument. But others have speculated that such a rocket might be capable of taking out satellites in orbit. China successfully shot down a defunct satellite in 2007. Video

21 Years On: World Falun Dafa Day

Celebrations were held around the world to commemorate the 1992 introduction of Falun Gong, or Falun Dafa, to the public. The meditation practice is the most popular in Chinese modern history, and since the Chinese Communist Party attacked it in 1999, it has spawned the world's largest civil disobedience movement.

25,000 elephants are killed annually for ivory and China is one of the biggest consumers. But this is largely due to ignorance, believes one of China's most famous actresses. Li Bingbing has become a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN's Environmental Programme in hopes of reducing the poaching. Video
