China Focus: Doctors Seek Obama Response on Organ Harvesting

Strong evidence of state-sponsored, forced removal of organs from Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience first emerged in 2006. Earlier this year over 100 congresspeople signed a letter urging Obama to speak out. On December 1, expert medical doctors started a "We the People" signature campaign, which, under White House guidelines, guarantees a presidential response if enough signatures are recorded.

Skewed Chinese State Media Coverage of Connecticut Massacre

Around the clock, in-depth coverage of the Connecticut shooting called it a human rights disaster, a subtle dig for US calls for human rights reform in China. Meanwhile, little mention was made of 22 school children stabbed on the very same day in central China. Netizens lambasted the imbalance as nationalistic.

Farmer Recreates "Noah's Ark" for 12/21

"It's better to prepare for nothing than not prepare for something," said an inventor of what could be called "Noah's Beach Ball." The 10,000-pound ball measures fourteen feet in diameter and can carry 30 people, oxygen, and food for two months. He hopes they will be mass-produced.
