A unique chance to be part of the first ascent in 2015
This is the launch of a unique opportunity to make the first recorded ascent of Mukot Peak, a 6000 metre summit in the Nepal Himalaya, with experienced KE climbing leader, Ade Summers. Starting in the far West of Nepal at the remote airstrip of Jhupal we will trek through the spectacular Tarap and Barbung Valleys, to a base camp above Mukot Village in one of the least visited corners of Nepal. From here we will make a complete traverse of Mukot Peak (6087m) by its north and south ridges leading to a camp in the 'Hidden Valley' behind Dhaulagiri. We end this unique adventure with a crossing of the Dhampus Pass to Jomsom in the Kali Gandakhi Valley, thereby also completing a fantastic trekking traverse of Lower Dolpo. There are just 12 places available on this 22 day adventure which starts on 3rd October 2015. >> Read more about Mukot Peak

Which is the best climbing peak?
Over the last 30 years we have built up an outstanding collection of climbing holidays that will take you to the world's most spectacular mountain ranges. Our climbing trips usually involve the ascent of snow-covered peaks where climbing ropes, ice axes and other items of mountaineering equipment may be used.
Our range stretches from big mountains in the Himalayas, like Mera Peak, to Aconcagua the highest peak in the Southern Hemisphere and Mount Khuiten rising above the Mongolian Steppe. There are also unusual peaks such as Hvannadalshnukur in Iceland, as well as a number of Alpine classics, including Mont Blanc. >> From highest to lowest - Our top summits

Holiday of the Month
|
Moroccan Magic - A Family Adventure
We asked KE Product Manger Kit Wilkinson why this holiday made it to the hot spot this month: "This 1-week trip excellently blends the Atlas Mountains and Atlantic Coast. We bake bread Berbe-style, experience a traditional Moroccan 'hammam', walk in the foothills, overnight in hotels with swimming pools, explore souks in old town Essaouira, learn to surf in the Atlantic, ride camels on the beach and we even relax in beautiful gardens for a practical lesson in Islamic calligraphy." If those activities don't take your family's fancy but Morocco does - try our family holidays: Atlas to the Atlantic and Camels on the Beach. |

From Basecamp to Namche Bazaar
"On a rainy Tuesday morning in March, I was asked by director Tim Greening whether I'd like to accompany KE's annual Tenzing- Hillary Mount Everest Marathon trekking holiday in Nepal and compete in the marathon myself. As a regular runner, I knew this was a once in a lifetime opportunity so of course, I immediately said yes, however as the initial excitement began to ware off, I started to think... Can I really be ready for the World's Highest Marathon in just two months?!" - My Mt Everest Training Blog KE travel consultant Angela Davies has just completed a snow covered Everest Marathon in 7 hrs 16 min, coming in as the 3rd female international runner and is currently on her way home. We'll give you a full update of her marathon and visit to the P.R.A.N Juniper Trust project in Nepal in July's eNews. The race was dominated by Nepapali runners with Sudip Kalung the winner in a remarkable 3 hrs 52 min! Feeling inspired? Bookings are open for the 2015 and 2016 Tenzing-Hillary Mount Everest Marathon race. |
