Central America is HOT!
We are delighted to have been awarded accolades for our new Pacific to the Caribbean Discovery Holiday by not just one, but two influential publications! It has caught the attention of National Geographic Traveller's editorial team who "worked long and hard to find 2014's most authentic, innovative, immersive, best-guided and most sustainable tours" and named it one of their "50 Tours of a Lifetime". While back in March Wanderlust Magazine included the holiday in their "50 Top Trips for 2014". Find out why the journey across Nicaragua, El Salvador and Honduras is definitely HOT!

Everest Tragedy
|
Help via the Pasang Lhamu Foundation
We were shocked to hear of the recent deaths of 16 Nepalese guides, caught in an avalanche as they carried loads through the Khumbu Icefall above Everest Basecamp. We work closely with many Nepalese guides and Sherpas and realise that many have lost relatives and close friends; we offer them our deepest condolences. Many of you have asked if you can donate to help and we would like to recommend: The Pasang Lhamu Mountaineering Foundation (PLMF). Pasang Lhamu was the first Sherpa woman to summit Everest, who sadly died on the descent. A foundation was set up in her memory in 1993, which actively supports mountain people and communities throughout Nepal. In light of the recent tragedies on Everest, a new fund has been set up (within the PLMF) to help the dependents of those lost or injured.

Tim and Glenn still regularly lead and recce new trips each year and whilst they may not have completed every holiday we offer, they have done a huge amount over the last 30 years. KE Holiday of the Month

Iceland Land of Extremes
There are lots of good reasons why we chose this one-week Icelandic trek to be our Holiday of the Month... and here are just a few of them: - Crossing the Fjallabak wilderness, the 'Laugavegur' trek is one of Europe's great walks.
- This is a real trek with 5 nights camping and 90 kilometres of walking over 5 days.
- Experience a wild volcanic landscape - ice caps, crater lakes, lava flows & hot springs
- Low-cost flights from as little as £150 (ICT.5) make Iceland more affordable than before.
- Iceland is a special place, a world apart. You can discover its 'difference' on the Land of Extremes trek.

TaKE the Kids to JORDAN

Family Jordan Trip impresses Journalist
With its contrasting desert landscapes, welcoming people and amazing history (from the 'rose-red city' of Petra to Lawrence of Arabia), Jordan has been a popular KE family destination for several years. Keen to learn more, Travel Journalist Peter Coombs, his wife and 2 young children recently joined our Wadi Rum, Petra and the Dead Sea Family holiday. To find out how they got on, read his article in the latest issue of Active Traveller magazine - on sale now!
"You're going where? And you're taking the kids?" That was the reaction when Pete Coombs told friends he was taking his whole family to Jordan for the autumn half term. But, far from being a case for social services, the experience turned out to be a cultural and educational revelation for all concerned... >> View all Family Adventure Holidays |

KE Staff Get Sportive
|
Are you up for a KE Road Cycling trip?
As keen road cyclists, we are fortunate to live in the Lake District, with its fantastic scenery and brilliant choice of rides... short and long. One of the longest is coming up this weekend in the form of the Fred Whitton Challenge, a gruelling 112 mile 'sportive' that includes the climbs of Kirkstone, Honistor, Newlands, Whinlatter, Hardknott and Wrynose! KE biking team, Tim, Kit and Jo have signed up for this and are probably now regretting it! Recent training abroad may help them, however. Tim recently rode our Cheeky Cols of the Costa Blanca. Kit checked out some of our Vuelta de Mallorca ride and Jo led a group on the Road Cycle Tour of Toubkal in Morocco. Good luck on the 'Fred' guys! >> View all Road Cycling Holidays
