Meet the Leaders
Meet the leaders in Morocco

Mustapha and Hassan visit Keswick

We recently held our annual 'Leaders Training Meet' in Keswick and were delighted to welcome to the UK for the first time two of our most experienced Moroccan guides, Mustapha Imharken and Hassan ait Brahim. Mustapha regularly leads our road and mountain bike holidays, along with climbing Toubkal in winter and quotes the classical Moroccan singer, Mohamed Rouicha as his favourite performer. Ever-smiling, Hassan is likely to be found leading trips as diverse as trekking in the Jebel Sirwa or our Camels on the Beach family adventure. They have both led fascinating lives and are inspirational leaders. Check the link below to learn more and find out who also worked for the US Peace Corp.

New School Brochure - Out NOW
KE Schools Adventure Brochure
Adventure Travel, an educational experience

School adventures provide a great opportunity for youngsters to learn through first-hand experience. Whether your preference is for a 'geographical' expedition - trekking to the foot of the highest mountains in the Himalaya or walking amongst the dunes of the greatest deserts on the planet. Or, if more of a 'historical' adventure appeals - exploring some of the world's archaeological wonders. Either way, we've got it covered. With 30 years experience in the adventure travel industry, we can work with teachers to design a programme that will encourage students to learn outside the classroom. Our bright and colourful new brochure highlights 24 school-specific adventures around the world and is best viewed on an iPad - allowing you to click through for further information about each trip.

Bhutan on Film
Bhutan Thunder Dragon Ride video

Cycle in Shangri La

Tim Walker who recently returned from our bike traverse of Bhutan sent us a lovely video highlighting his incredible journey across the 'Land of the Thunder Dragon.' Well worth a look, it shows off the challenging climbs, endless descents, colourful prayer flags, impressive monasteries and unspoiled mountain scenery.

Dan Aspel's insight into his recent 8-day guided trip with KE to climb Mont Blanc continues in this month's edition of Trail Magazine. Check out his blog for a preview of what it is really like to climb Mont Blanc from a client's perspective. "My eyes searched for the safe place but there was none. The visibility was menacingly clear..."

Christmas holidays 2013

Christmas - Who said that?

The sun has got his hat on and we're talking about Christmas already! Seriously, now is the best time to plan your Christmas adventure. A popular time to travel, you will start to find diminishing availability with the potential of increased airfares!

Need to be inspired? How about waking up in a  tropical dry forest on our Costa Rica Walks and Wildlife, biking to the gateway of Petra in Jordan on Dead 2 Red, or hanging out with reindeer in Sweden on our family Winter Wonderland Adventure. By forward thinking, there's little chance of losing your place and you will save some expense. Take a look at our Christmas Escapes for more ideas.

Juniper Trust Update
Juniper Trust update

Peru and Pakistan

Fantastic news from KE leader Ayub Khan in Pakistan. In a remote corner of northern Hunza, Asumbar Village School was officially opened, two years on from Ayub's first inspiration to build it. The Juniper Trust raised 6000 for the construction and continues to fund the teacher's salary.

Next month, Val Pitkethly will be continuing her installation of solar lamps in three villages in the Cordillera Blanca. This work at Yanghiroa, Pastopapcha and Gultwachipa will take the total number of lights installed in Peru to over 4000! Val is hoping to raise funds for 300 lights and at a unit cost of 18 needs to find 5400. Cotswold Outdoor is supporting this project, among others, and has already donated 2000.

Deuter Prize Draw
Deuter prize draw - Sri Lanka Family Adventure

Our Sri Lanka Island Explorer has been the surprise top family holiday for 2013. We are not sure if it is the beaches of the Indian Ocean or the trek to the rock fortress of Sigiriya but we recommend the Deuter Spectro AC 30 backpack. A favourite of hikers that like to travel light yet don't want to compromise on comfort and durability. Durable, lightweight and smart, the perfect partner for day hikes and tours.

To enter simply recommend a friend who would like to receive a copy of the KE Adventure Brochure and our monthly enews. Just email us your friend's name, email and postal address - it's as easy as that! Don't forget to include your details too in case you are the lucky winner!
