Brush up your Snow Skills

We've been promised the coldest winter in 100 years so this could be the time for you to learn, or brush up, on some Winter Skills. We have a range of 'snow holidays' for everyone from the expert to the novice. With a choice of snowshoeing, ski touring, mountaineering, riding a snowmobile and ice fishing, all you have to decide is which one to do? So whether it's snowshoeing in the Pyrenees, dogsledding in Finland or ski touring the Grand Traverse of the Jura in France we can take you there. And for the little ones (and not so little) we also have a Winter Wonderland Family multi-activity special in Sweden

A few strategically placed KE Brochures could be just what the family needs to help plan an adventure for 2013! We've got some great new family holiday ideas to whet your appetite; India is the stage for our Tigers, Temples and Taj, a 10 day family adventure in Rajasthan, Iceland will take you to the King of the Vikings and Albania to the discover the Land of the Eagles. If that wasn't enough, Morocco will show you her magic and Cuba will teach you to Salsa in the Sun.

Vanuatu... Where's that?
Vanuatu Volcano Trekking Holiday
Home of Old Skool Bungee Jumping

On the other side of the World, on a tiny island in the Pacific, their lives a tribe of people that invented the art of bungee jumping. Bungee jumping for them is not a fun and expensive pastime; it's a rite of passage for young men. It's not performed with a stretchy cord and a team of safety professionals. This is 'real bungee jumping', with nothing but vines and sheer courage. Definitely not for the faint hearted! Check out the "idiot abroad", Karl Pilkingtons view on it in Wanderlust.

We have just announced a fantastic new holiday to this fascinating part of the World. No we won't be taking you bungee jumping but we will be island hopping to show you the very best this Island Paradise has to offer. With lava lakes, caves, idyllic beaches and an exotic blend of culture and wildlife, you will have the opportunity of being one of the very lucky ones to see this magical corner of the World.

The King Loves Cycling!

What a country, the government promotes "Gross National Happiness", and we've just heard that the King, who loves cycling, has banned all private traffic around the capital of Thimpu, on certain days so locals can cycle with no hassles! Where else in the world would this happen?

Wanderlust Top 50
Wanderlust Top 50 Trips 2013

KE Make the Grade... Twice!

We are delighted that not 1 but 2 of our NEW Holidays for 2013 have been featured in the Wanderlust Top 50 Trips for 2013. Our Giants of the Pamir trekking holiday in China takes 19 days and starts out from the former Silk Road oasis and trading post of Kashgar. This radical trekking adventure forges a route across high passes beneath the twin Pamir peaks of Kongur (7720m) and Mustagh Ata (7646m). Meanwhile, somewhere in the Indian Ocean, our  Beaches and Baobabs of Northern Madagascar takes you on a 13-day discovery holiday. With its distinctive indigenous wildlife and welcoming human population, whose language has its origins in distant Polynesia, Madagascar is a land apart. Few visitors make it to the north of this vast island, where spectacular landscapes, endless beaches and incredible wildlife can be found.

Encounters with fearsome leeches

Since 1988 our School Expeditions programme has been offering a collection of adventurous and educational itineraries. Each trip has been devised with the school and the student's requirements in mind. Ipswich School just recently took their students to Borneo. Here is part of Matt's blog

"The following day we made our way to the starting point of the jungle trek and arrived at Camp 5 in the heart of the rainforest that evening. By now we had had our first encounters with the fearsome leeches, Harry Stanton managing to attract more than double anyone else and thus earning him the nickname of Harry the Leech as well as being the unluckiest man on the trip."  Read more...
