TESL Ontario
Update on TESL Ontario/TESL Canada Memorandum of Agreement

Dear ,

On January 29, 2015 TESL Ontario sent an email (click
here) notifying our members that TESL Ontario had entered into negotiations with TESL Canada to renew the terms of the current Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) which define the terms of the relationship between our organizations. (To learn more about the MOA, click on this link to our FAQs page http://teslontario.net/frequently-asked-questions)

Negotiations took place on January 28 and April 1, 2015.   TESL Ontario and TESL Canada were unable to reach a consensus on the terms in order to renew the current MOA.  Consequently, under the terms of the MOA, TESL Ontario has given 6-months' notice that the current MOA with TESL Canada will be terminated.

As of November 4, 2015 TESL Ontario will no longer administer membership applications and membership fee collection on behalf of TESL Canada
.  As a result, we have invited TESL Canada to discuss the establishment of a transition plan for those TESL Ontario members who wish to continue to be members of TESL Canada and those who must be members to maintain their TESL Canada certification. The details of the transition plan will be sent to members as they become available.  As for the TESL Canada membership fee of $18.08 ($16.00 + HST) which is collected on behalf of TESL Canada each time a TESL Ontario membership of any kind is renewed, this fee will no longer be collected as of November 4, 2015.
