TESL Ontario

New Member Resources and Benefits

Dear ,

Please find below a number of membership related updates from TESL Ontario about new resources, new member benefits, your membership card and more.

 Career Development Resource Centre

TESL Ontario is pleased to introduced a new Career Development Resource Centre on the website at: http://www.teslontario.net/career-development-resource-centre

Many of the responses from the 2012 Member Survey indicated that members would like to see more information on the development of job search skills and career advancement advice.

As a direct result of these suggestions from our members, we have created a partnership with career expert Audrey Prenzel of Résumé Resources who will be writing articles for our Career Corner on a number of job search and career development topics.

You will find these articles both on the website under Career Corner and in the quarterly Membership Minute Newsletter. Audrey will provide advice articles on the following topics:

  • Job search methods, skills, hints and tips
  • Resume writing skills, hints and tips
  • Interview skills, hints and tips
  • Using social media to build an online professional identity
  • Career advancement hints and tips
  • How to use volunteer experience to your advantage
  • and so much more!

There are already four articles posted on the website with many more to come! Click here to view the current articles including:

  • 5 Technical Resume Mistakes (Membership Minute - August 2012)

2013 Membership Cards

TESL Ontario is pleased to inform you that all members will be receiving new membership cards again this year.

In 2010, when we first introduced the sturdy plastic membership cards we had originally planned to re-issue this card only once every 3 years with renewal stickers being issued in the years in between.

However, as your membership card has become an integral tool in accesing many of your membership benefits we will now issue a new printed card each year.
