I have a offer to help you with your inventory starting today through November 15th. But first as I have the soap box I should say how pleased I am with AMSOIL's work in the AMSOIL Magazine. It's really become the root in all of this. Fresh tech articles, great stories and explanations from the president's desk.

For the size of my business I probably don't have as many PCs as I should as I treat them the way I would want to be treated - meaning I don't really like the $20 fee and have always offered any customer out of state to just call to get the best price. But what I do sometimes is offer a free PC account when they buy a bypass kit or spend over $200. I think the information they receive from AMSOIL certainly helps expand that market very well. I love making offers, I love rewarding retail customers, etc.. I think that's why my store does well.

Unfortunately sometimes I bite off more than I can chew so I work late every day. I do take long breaks to keep my sanity and are surrounded by other businesses here where I chat with and buy from. On my spare time I like to tent camp. We just went fishing for the first time in years. I'm going to try to do more of that. When I say I bite off more than I can chew I'm talking about this car hobby.. But I'm willing to work to make it happen because I enjoy that quiet time.. See the last section on that..

Local Product Sales & Ramblings

It occurred to me that due to ads I run in local newspapers and magazines (my AMSOIL Facebook page often displays that stuff) I'm getting the segments which I use to NEVER get - the classic car buff, the hot rodder, the know it all diesel owner, etc.. I got into this for the daily driver segment not having much faith in the racing segment unlike many other dealers. A lot of that has to do with where I live though. If I lived near Road of America in Wisconsin, Laguna Seca, Lime Rock or Road Atlanta I'd be eating up that market as I love road racing. But anyway I am now getting these customers thanks to the advertising and the millions which AMSOIL is spending in these markets. I'm having to order more and more Z-Rod products, the old 10W40 is selling well now and aside from that the European oils are selling.

As for the European ones I have a policy for every customer who buys oil. Owners of cars lacking the AMSOIL Ea series oil filter, I keep the MANN version in stock and they always return or of they don't some else does. I mark them up just a few percent just to gain more commissions and it works. The quality of the MANN filters are often better than what the VW or Audi customer gets at the dealership. Actually about 10 of the MANN oil filters cover a good broad spectrum of cars.

If there's a product you think should be moving out of your inventory but isn't call me. Of if you want to discuss a single product relating to sales tips or uses please call.
In the store here the top 10 sellers may actually attribute to 35 to 40% of the sales while the other 100 items make up about 60%. As you grow you will rely on the seldom sold items to expand. The customer who comes in to buy power steering fluid only will also expand later to other items. If you don't have it, that's taking two steps back. Of course the other problem that seems to plague the AMSOIL name is the knowledge that even the dealer who has all the stuff doesn't return calls or lacks a business related message on their voice mail. If I miss one customers call or email I really get chewed out!!

If you decide to do a store like mine you should have a 2nd item to cover your utilities or operating costs. I have a propane refill station and in the summer I sell motorcycle jackets by Olympia and in the winter I sell propane and natural gas vent free heaters as well as vented tube garage heaters.

$$ Help in the form of Shipping Rebates

I hope most of my dealers & downline know that I do shipping rebates. I rebate even my dealers dealers with the exception of Direct Jobbers & their lines below me. As they get full commissions that should be their responsibility to offer programs if they wish.
This is for dealers only.

So from the moment you see this newsletter through November 15th, I am improving the shipping rebate rates to help make 2014 a record year. Please mail or scan/email your AMSOIL invoices and send to me for that period and I'll mail you back a check! I've offered rebates for six years or more and these are the best rates ever!!

Here's the rates per pound I will rebate:
One to 200 - $0.13/Lb
201 to 400 - $0.25/Lb
401 to 600 - $0.20/Lb
601 to 800 - $0.15/Lb
801 to 1600 - $0.11/Lb
1601 and more - $0.05/Lb

For Freight Collect please use the lowest rate carrier you can. Orders over 8 cases consider freight collect. You simply call the warehouse which serves you and ask who the shipping line who they use to send pallets out.
Then you call them using the class 65 and see what they would charge. They may have to arrange a sub-handler for the route.
My orders from Superior, WI go through two carriers and no matter what I can load on one pallet up to 8 feet tall they charge $87.70. That's a 8 hour drive from here. In summary I am paying to ship 90 cases of oil for what AMSOIL charges to ship 8 4-gallon cases!!!!!

If you don't order a lot consider group shipping with another area dealer.

email your rebates to [email protected] or mail to:

Project Corvair 1966

Just an update on my Corvair project. I found this rust free car in Nebraska - has rust in the fenders but from the rocker panels being clogged - but NO - absolutely ZERO underbody rust or surface rust!! The guy I bought it from replaced the fuel tank and replaced all brake parts.
It's a plain Jane 500 meaning bench seat, AM radio and sun visors. It was ordered with the better 110HP engine and automatic transmission. Direct air heater as well. Lucky for me it was retrofitted by Chevrolet in the late 70's with the low compression heads when unleaded fuel came out.
It was parked in 1979 and still has the special Nebraska 1976 Bi-centennial license plates with a 1980 registration tag.

I  did an basic rebuild. New pistons and bored cylinders .040 over. Crank and cam were left alone. I neglected to replace the valve guides with bronze which I regret but maybe later. The mice did a horrible number on the interior so that's being fixed in stages. The heater system is being replaced. The long duct under the car is the next thing to be removed and cleaned. The heater fan was packed full of stuff. Uggh.. I also have to do suspension repairs as I go, not to mention tires.. But the motor is so smooth and strong! Not as strong, pretty and jet smooth as the Studebaker though (That will be featured in the next newsletter!!).

Why Corvair??
I bought this car returning to an old addiction and technically it makes the 22nd Corvair I licensed. It's the car I first tried AMSOIL and gained some impressive testimonials including preventing a battery from having to be replaced!! The late models (1965-1969) actually have what people call the Corvette independent rear suspension but factually the Corvette has the Corvair's suspension. In 63 it was developed and tested at Pikes Peak. Such impressions were made that they did a temporary fix on the swingarm 64 and gave the Vair's suspension to the Vette for the 64 model year.
I happen to like the sedans. They have their own unique feel. Back to the subject though - I figured the Vair is the best car to display the bypass kit - you will soon see why. I also want to use it as my main driver as I prefer bench seats anyway for cruising.
So here it is right now.

Oh - here you see it's missing the idler pulley...

Future mods??
#.5 Sound deadening material
#1 Fuel Injection
#2 Cruise Control
#4 Dual Master Cyl
#5 Disc Brakes
#6 Front Airdam/airsplitter
#7 Upgraded suspension parts...

Till next time..
Good Day
