Greetings!

Just now as I start this, I just reviewed the new updates to the AMSOIL marketing plan and sales policies. (See Centerlines in the Dealer Zone). While I have mixed thoughts on all of it, I knew it was coming after a talk with Peter Markum at Sturgis. This was intended to make a more level playing field by primarily halting the "trial PC farms" and dealers using batch data collection to capture every customer who lands on their site. One thought says any dealer can teach themselves to create a site like that but the problem is that the customer ends up getting the short stick.
Personally my new customer generation has decreased 80% over the last two years partially due to upkeep of my store. Also because I have less time to update my website(s) but that effort is at rebirth. My keeping ahead strategy has been centered on being consistent with past customers. One thing which will always remain consistent regardless of the advancements in marketing technology is the simple rewards of following up with the customers you already earned!

I think you will enjoy this newsletter!! Please send me photos of what you are doing and I'll be encouraged to send more updates more frequently!!

It pays to read this newsletter
Win a Bypass Filter Kit and a case of XL 5W30

Use on your own vehicle or sell it!

 Bypass Display Stand - Demonstrator

Here's a drawing you will love - open to all dealers and DJs in my group. All you have to do is send me an email to be entered into the drawing for the bypass kit as a reward to those who read the newsletter.

I'll also have a 2nd drawing for the case of XL5W30 (12 quart case).
This is for all dealers in my downline including DJs based on commission points. This one you will qualify simply by having a minimum of 500 commissions for October. I'll scan the points at the end of the month. DJs will have to send me their lists as I cannot see yours in order for your downline to be part of the drawing. I will be doing some type of reward drawing at least 6 times per year.

On the BMK-23 you will have to order the appropriate adapter based on the vehicle and of course the oil filters but this is a $210 value!

Keeping up via 3rd Party

Ok, so I sound like a broken record. I frequently urge dealers to subscribe and read Lubes 'n' Greases magazine. Lately every month has had two or three useful stories directly related to your business.
I have two PDFs I made which are MUST reads. The first is a letter response from AMSOIL on a well written ATF article. The response gives the reader the whole stint of the original article to save time.
The 2nd is your proof that the major players in the "synthetic" motor oil market use the word synthetic only as a marketing term. It's clear why our tests show such a wide variable in quality from one brand from the next. Most of the lower cost "fully synthetic" may be 10% Group III and 90% Group. Essentially 0% Synthetic but a petroleum blend. AMSOIL has identified to us at AMSOIL U that there are virtually dozens of quality levels of these group III's and one can assume that the public companies are most likely to promote more heavily the one with the largest profit margin. The OE was designed to give us the upper hand in that window.

Base stock wars are unwise to venture towards as we are not chemists within the industry but this info should open the door for some creative marketing on your part. I often remark that as far as I know, AMSOIL is the only one still producing a 100% labeled product and that gives the Mobil 1 fan something to ponder.

Here are the two articles:

Synthetics: Too Many Choices?

Powersports lube needs/market lacking
Universal oils
Pricing
Transmission technologies
Viscosity trends

Home Inventory
I received a few photos in the past month from Mike Barry of Loranger, Louisiana and Tim Rayner of Decatur, TX.
The first photo is from a booth Mike had at a car show.
Mike was at AMSOIL's 40th Anniversary and was impressed with the series of display racks and tools which are being evaluated at the present time. Look for more affordable options to display AMSOIL products soon!! Mike has several NAPA auto parts stores for retail accounts and product is moving! He is waiting patiently for the new racks to be made available.

The next set of photos are from Tim's flea market table and his garage inventory. I can see Tim can fulfill any local order without delay. Good organization and variety. Decatur is about an hour away from the AMSOIL warehouse in Arlington but I can attest that the greater majority of dealers within a 100 mile radius have less than 1/2 or no inventory as they pick-up as needed. This causes lost repeat business yet Tim can supply any evening, weekend or when the customer forgot to order something. He admits the inventory has been the cause for repeat sales he wouldn't have had prior.

Nest issue I will list a minimum suggested inventory you can use to help new dealers get started,

Extras

Heads up - a new chain spray of some type is coming soon! No details except to be ready.

I'm pleased about the new AMSOIL Injector Oil AIO - view the training materials but consider this a product for all applications except were specified. It was developed for the 2-cycle customer who only occationally uses their equipment. It will offer the same results as an OEM product for a better price. One example would be your jet-ski or snowmobile customer who only uses their machine a couple time per year. Heavier use should consider the premium products for the application.

Intregrated inventory and sales management software - Discussed at Amsoil U, I also called to ask about updates - Slow in the making, corporate has staff building a fully integrated system which should rival anything we have now. As they are not a software company, a BETA version will be available perhaps by February. More on this as info becomes available.

ATF as an additive - From my own observations the very best ATF additives may simply just be a good quality ATF. I have added 2 to 3 quarts (after extracting that amount) of our fresh ATF in transmissions with sluggish performance as a temporary remedy and the effect was astonishing. Slip and delay in one car was pretty bad. Three quarts restored all the performance I needed until I could pull the pan.

Cetane Boost - word must be spreading. I use to NEVER sell this. Well perhaps 8 or so per year. Now I'm selling bottles, cases and even four of the 5-gallon pails this year alone. Truckers are remarking on the significant mileage increases.

Oil Filters - I still have the offer to ship our dealers any combination of 12 oil filters for a significant savings. I keep a large supply of filters so I should be able to cover any need you may have. Take advantage of this. 7% off or more depending on the filter.

If you are doing pay per click ads, call me as I have discovered a secrete you can use. But it's too good of a secrete to post here!!

Bypass install - Gabe Gerberding if western Illinois submitted these photos and more with descriptions on our Facebook training page. The BP filter is mounted in the engine compartment down low where it is easy to drain. The car is a HYUNDAI VELOSTER. Good work and nice car!!

Lastly - don't forget to thank your online customers. Send a newsletter or email to an old customer. It is worth your time I can assure you!
