Inspiration, community, mentoring, commitment, education, and solidarity are all words that come to mind when acknowledging how our chapter members and officers have contributed to the New England Region Chapters.
 
You are all the foundation of the American Harp Society, Inc. and we thank you for all you have contributed.   The following newsletter highlights many opportunities to be involved, and I would encourage you to do so! 42nd National Conference in Atlanta

The Georgia Chapter is proud to host the 42nd National Conference in Atlanta, next June 30 - July 3, 2016 at the Emory Conference Center Hotel.

Dues are $20.00 for a student (in school up to age 21), Regular membership $25, and $35.00 for a family membership (2-4 members), $40 Friend of the Harp, $100 Patron of the Chapter, $500.00 Benefactor.   Membership year begins September 1st and ends August 31st of the following year. Reciprocal memberships
It has been agreed by the presidents of four tri-state area chapters of the American Harp Society, Metropolitan New York (Metro Harp NYC), New Jersey, Connecticut, and Long Island to extend a reciprocal membership to the members of these four chapters. For only $10 per reciprocal chapter, provided you have first purchased a membership in your home area, entitles you to attend all meetings provided by the chapters of your choice.

Susan Knapp Thomas has joined the Harp Faculty as Instructor of Harp for the Hartt School of Music College Division in Hartford, Connecticut.
Megan Cooke, student of Susan Knapp Thomas, is one of three scholarship winners for Glastonbury Church's Music Scholarship program in Glastonbury, CT.

Boston Chapter

A big thank you from Felice Pomeranz to all in the Boston chapter who have been involved and assisted with the Boston chapter over the years! A very special thank you and recognition of Rebecca Bogers and Amanda Romano who helped with recitals, educational events and assisted in including the Boston harp community in Boston AHS events.  Molly McCaffrey has also been a great treasurer and Kaitlin Smith has been wonderful a Correspondence Secretary!

Chapter News
On September 26th, 27th, and 28th, The Boston Conservatory Harp Department co-hosted the 2015 Boston Harp Festival with TBC extension programs. The festival was founded in 2010 by TBC Harp Coordinator, Ina Zdorovetchi. The Boston Harp Festival celebrated the harp and harpists in the Boston and New England Area while featuring the harp's wonderful potential as a solo instrument. The weekend included exhibitions, panel discussions, master classes and private lessons, this year's festival included performances and presentations by Felice Pomeranz, Maeve Gilchrist, Carl Swanson, Ina Zdorovetchi, Deborah Henson-Conant, and Rachael Galbraith.

Other concert performers included Anna Ellsworth, Amber Mecke, Gretchen Sheetz, and Jane Soh, Pia Salvia, Deanna Cirielli, Anna Ellsworth, Allana Iwanicki, Arilyn Mitchell, Charles Overton, Maria Ren, Clara Warford, and Anna Wiegandt.
