We hope this finds you well. We'd like to highlight the Lifetime Achievement Award program in this issue. At the 2014 New Orleans Harp Carnivale National Conference, David Kolacny was recognized for his service to the AHS. David has been the AHS National Exhibit Chairman since 1988. Many thanks to David for his dedication to the AHS, as well as to the other fourteen recipients of this honor.

The Grants Program's Fall 2014 deadline is very soon. October 15th is the next deadline to submit a grant application for a project furthering the mission of the Society.
October 15th is also the date to send ideas and suggestions to the Task Forces that are busy working for you.
The Summer 2014 issue of The American Harp Journal (AHJ) has been sent. Online you can find AHJ Extras to Carl Swanson's article on Debussy's Sonate and Barbara Weiger Lepke-Sims' article on music and medical care. Please note November 1st is the deadline for AHJ copy submissions and AHJ advertising, including the Directory of Teachers. We look forward to hearing from you.
Please make your plans now to join us next year for the 21st AHS, Inc. Summer Institute and
11th AHS, Inc. National Competitions to be held June 21st - June 24th, 2015 in Logan, Utah. The 2015 Summer Institute Organizing Committee of ShruDeLi Ownbey, Anamae Anderson, Chilali Hugo, and David Day are busy considering proposals and planning a stellar summer AHS event in Utah.
