Moving forward into a new membership year, full speed ahead ...

Greetings! We hope that you were able to join us at the fabulous 41st National American Harp Society, Inc. (AHS) National Conference in New Orleans, or if you couldn't be there, that you followed the festive event on Facebook or Twitter.  Congratulations to Catherine Anderson, Conference Chair, and her Committee, who "laissez les bon temps rouler" New Orleans-style, with many informative workshops, inspiring master classes, amazing concerts, and incredible receptions.

In New Orleans, the AHS Board of Directors spent many productive hours in meetings.  One exciting development from these meetings is the creation of six Task Forces to expand programs and services in key areas determined by results from the 2013 Membership Survey sent last fall. We would love to hear from you, as an AHS member, with more ideas and suggestions.

Please be aware that three important dates are approaching soon. You are invited to renew your membership before the September 1^st membership year begins.  September 1^st is also the deadline for members to submit a proposal to present at the 2015 Summer Institute.  October 15^th is the next deadline to submit a grant application for a project furthering the mission of the Society.

Many heartfelt thanks to outgoing AHS Officers: Delaine Fedson Leonard, President; Randall Pratt, 1^st Vice-President; Lillian Lau, 2^nd Vice-President; Jaymee Haefner, Secretary; and Felice Pomeranz, Chairman of the Board, for their countless hours of dedicated and exemplary service to the Society.

The new officers elected for 2014-2016 are: Ann Yeung, President; Barbara Weiger Lepke-Sims, 1st Vice-President; Carolyn Lund, 2^nd Vice-President; Erin Wood, Secretary; Catherine Anderson, Treasurer; and Cheryl Dungan Cunningham, Chairman of the Board.

Thank you, as always, for your membership and support of the AHS and membership. Together, the future awaits us.

Please make your plans now to join us next year for the 21st AHS Summer Institute and 11th AHS National Competition to be held June 21st - June 24th, 2015 in Logan, Utah. We hope to see you there!
