"Growth doesn't happen by accident." That's what I wrote in my most recent blog entry, You Know You Want To Grow, inspired by Chevrolet's advertising during last month's Super Bowl.

WomenUpFront Launches April 15

WomenUpFront is a facilitated monthly peer-to-peer roundtable consisting of 10-15 women business owners. This format provides the opportunity for owners to get "out of the weeds" of the day-to-day and look at their businesses more purposefully and strategically.

Briefly, what you do: Willow Tree Outdoor specializes in commercial landscape construction and installation, including plantings, lawns, walls, pavers, irrigation and site furnishings. We estimate and develop bids for private- and public-sector projects, and deploy our union crews at sites throughout Massachusetts and surrounding states.

Year you came to the Business Growth Center: 2013

Facet of the Growth Center You Appreciate Most: Having the camaraderie and interaction with the other entrepreneurs at the Growth Center has helped me tremendously as I've launched my business. We all go through similar issues and help each other by sharing tips and bouncing around ideas on things like marketing, navigating regulations, etc. Whether I have a major setback or a great breakthrough, I can come back to my workplace and find supportive office-mates.

How has the Growth Center helped you grow? Starting a new business is a huge undertaking. The Growth Center has made the challenges more manageable by providing the space and support systems I need-from printing, faxing and digital networks to storage and meeting space. I'm on duty 24/7 and always on the go but the Growth Center is my home base and has made it possible for me to concentrate on doing the hard work of building my business and supporting my family.
