Happy Thanksgiving from our
family to yours!

St. Michael's Academy

  :

As Thanksgiving is upon us, so is our opportunity to be thankful for the many gifts God has given us.

We always remember to be thankful for our families and our food, our warm homes and the clothes we wear. But let's also take a minute to thank God for the simple things we sometimes take for granted.  When you wake up in the morning, notice the sky and the trees. Try to listen for birds singing and notice the squirrels gathering their food for the winter. God has given us a beautiful world; take a minute to sit, relax and admire it before the rush of travel or the arrival of family. "Recharge your batteries" with a quiet moment and thank God for his generous gifts of earth, sky and life.

Then welcome your festivities! Happy Thanksgiving and may your day be blessed with joy and happiness!

Peace,

Ms. Ann Dougal

News from Ms. Wuller - Grade 4

Acrostic poem

We want to share our collective Thanksgiving thoughts with our friends, families, and all who care for Saint Michael's Academy.

We give thanks for:

Teachers, turkeys, trust and trees,
Hats, helping hands, happiness, and homes.
America, air to breathe, angels and art,
Nouns, notebooks, nuts, noodles and nature.
Kittens, kindness, Kit Kats, and koalas,
Saints, soccer, surprises, songs, and the Son of God.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good,
His love endures forever.

Thank you to all of the SMA students who donated food to the middle level student council food drive. With your help, St. Michael's Academy was able to contribute to the food pantry at Gray House. The students are shown collecting the food and getting ready for delivery!

Thank you Msgr. Liston, from St. Patrick's Parish, for celebrating Mass today with St. Michael's Academy. Your meaningful words provided inspiration and were the perfect way to start our Thanksgiving celebrations!

Prayer Corner
St. Michael the Archangel, pray for us!

We pray for all St. Michael's Academy students, families, faculty, and staff, and their special intentions.

This week we pray in a special way for:

Fr. David Darcy
Jennifer DeBarge

And we pray for all our dearly departed.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Our prayers continue to be with Mr. Rancitelli, who is undergoing treatment for a cancer recurrence. Each week, a different homeroom sends him cards. If your family would like to send a card, please send it to school with your child, clearly marked for Mr. Rancitelli. His family has set up a blog to write about this experience.Click here to read the blog.
