St. Michael's Academy
Greetings!
At our Thanksgiving prayer service today the students brought up the food we collected for donation to the Gray House, and we also brought forth our handmade crosses listing what we individually are thankful for. I'm not surprised to see that most, if not all, of our students listed family and friends on their crosses. I'm also not surprised to see such a large collection of food items. Our common values and sense of charity was certainly evident. When we return to school on Monday, it will be December, and Advent will have begun. The retailers have already made us well aware that the Christmas season is upon us, but we, as Catholics, have more important ways of preparing for Christmas than waking early to get the best deals of the season. Advent is a time for us all to reflect on the coming birth of Christ, and it is a time for us to give further thanks for what is near and dear to each of us, an opportunity to continue to extend the loving and giving hand of Christ in our community. On behalf of the faculty and staff of St. Michael's Academy, we thank you for your support of our mission and we wish you all safe travels and good times with family and friends. May your turkey be moist! Happy Thanksgiving! Peace Ann E. Dougal, Principal |

Who: Students whose last names begin with M-Z
Snow date: December 12, 2013

Program Time: 6:30 PM
Seating: Open seating
Doors Open: 6:00 PM
Admission: Free
Attire: Party-type (dress-up) clothes in the Christmas colors for boys and girls.

Students must arrive at St. Catherine of Siena Church by 6:00 PM on the evening of their performance. They are to be dropped off to their homeroom teachers who will be in the sanctuary of the church. The teachers will "stage" the children on the sanctuary for their performance before the musical program begins.
Please note:
- For both evenings, the program will last approximately 1 hour.
- The area around the altar (sanctuary) at St. Catherine of Siena Church has three sides. The body of the church is shaped like a cross so that the congregation sits around the sanctuary. Facing the front of the altar, the children will be positioned in the sanctuary in the following manner:
Grades 4, 7 & 8: to the left of the altar
Grades 3, 5 & 6: to the right of the altar
Grades Pre-K, K, 1, 2: in front of the altar
- All students will remain on the altar area (sanctuary) and will be dismissed to their parents according to grade levels of the youngest child's grade.
- Absolutely no food or drink will be allowed in the church. Please adhere to this policy that is not only ours, but also that of St. Catherine of Siena Church.
- After School Child Care will be offered on both nights of the program.
Our Christmas program will illustrate in song and pageantry that, indeed, "Jesus is the reason for the Season." We look forward to seeing you and all of the children on their assigned night of either Tuesday, Dec. 10th or Wednesday, Dec. 11th at St. Catherine of Siena Church!

Prayer Corner
| St. Michael the Archangel, pray for us! We pray for all St. Michael's Academy students, families, faculty, and staff, and their special intentions.
This week we pray in a special way for these friends of SMA: Francis & Judith Maiolo, Jean McFarlin.
We also remember in our prayers our deceased family and friends:
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. |
