Join us on the Advisory Board Field Trip
Every year the Advisory Board schedules a field trip to allow people the opportunity to see the projects being paid for by cities and towns.
This year, the Advisory Board field trip will tell a slightly different story. Join us on the BHC Fort Warren for a guided tour of Boston Harbor led by Boston Redevelopment Authority staff demonstrating the economic development and benefits resulting from the Boston Harbor Project.
Former MWRA Executive Director Doug MacDonald and the Honorable Judge Richard Stearns, who oversees the Boston Harbor Project, will be in attendance. Stay tuned for more surprise guests!
Leaving from Deer Island, the tour will be followed by a barbecue lunch and a tour of the Deer Island Treatment Plant with a focus on capital upgrades. Click here to view the full itinerary.

EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy's Maiden Address
Advisory Board staff was at newly confirmed EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy's speech at Harvard Law School to outline her vision for EPA. Among many of her remarks, the Boston native recalled the less than ideal experience of swimming in Boston Harbor before the Harbor Project, and called the cleanup of Boston Harbor one of the greatest achievements in Massachusetts. Moreover, she emphasized the important link between environmental challenges and economic development opportunities.
