Mary Therese Murphy, is a silk fusion artist from Stevens Point. She makes handmade fabric from dyed silk fibers as a background for fiber collage. The fabric is inlaid and overlaid with different fibers, threads and/or ribbons, which is then used for wall art, purses, scarves, chair seats and more. Mary Therese takes her inspiration from the Wisconsin landscape and from the colors of the silk. For more images of Mary's work go to |

Arts on the Square
Sat., August 16
Every Sloppy Joe performance draws on a deep well of original songs. This material is frequently recombined with jug-band instrumentation all while band-members swap the guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and bass around the stage.
One observer claimed to see the upright bass change players three times in one song.
Sloppy Joe has performed regularly in the tall pines of the north country as well as the mountains and cypress swamps of the south all the while maintaining their unique slopgrass sound.
