Scrip Program | |
The Scrip Center program has been a great addition to our school this year. Many families have earned rebates toward their tuition just by buying gift cards to use on their usual shopping, totaling hundreds of dollars. Starting next week, Kayleigh Marazzito will be the new Scrip Coordinator, and will continue to make the Scrip Program bigger and better. If you have any questions about how to get started with the Scrip program, she can be reached at

decimals. The 7th graders in the Triumph series are exploring circle graphs and the 7th graders in Connects are solving multi-step equations. The 8th graders are working with functions and graphs.
Recently, Mrs. Klein's classes have had the privilege of having a current UCF student observe/volunteer two days a week. Kevin Strileckis is the son of Terrie Strileckis, one of our high school teachers. He is currently pursuing a degree in English Literature with a Minor in Education. One of his Education classes requires that he spend time in a classroom. We are happy to help him meet this requirement, and are excited that he will be offering his math talents to Ms. Klein's students.

Notes From the Nurse
I would like to take a moment to clarify Pace Brantley School's policy regarding Illnesses and Absences.
If your child is out more than three days with a contagious illness, they must have a Physician's note stating that they are able to/ are well enough to return to school.
A good rule of thumb: Do not send your child to school if they are sneezing, coughing, have a runny nose, are feverish, has vomited and/ or has nausea, has a sore throat, or any other respiratory or flu like symptoms.
As always, we try to keep our campus as germ free as possible with continued hand washing education, cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, coughing into our elbows, etc. Recently, we have had very strong instances of the flu and viral colds with secondary symptoms leading to bronchitis.
Thank you for talking with your children about healthy living. As always, my door is always open if you have any questions regarding these health issues.

You can reach me at vfrye@pacebrantley.org or at (407)869-8882 ext 282.
To Your Health,
Nurse Frye

Walk-A-Thon
Dear Pace Parents,
As you know, Billy Brown, one of our 8th graders, is battling leukemia. His doctors have determined that Billy has a rare form of leukemia that requires a bone marrow transplant as part of his treatment. We have learned that Billy will have his bone marrow transplant done at Amplatz Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This procedure will require a lengthy stay of 4-5 months. We are planning a walk-a-thon to help cover the Brown family's expense of staying out of town for this length of time. Our goal is to raise ten thousand dollars. (The cost to the family of staying at the Ronald McDonald House near the hospital for this length of time - should they choose this option - is $9,000.) Money raised in excess of the cost of living expenses will go towards medical expenses not covered by insurance. If each family raises sixty dollars (the cost of one night), we will achieve our goal.
The walk-a-thon is scheduled for Friday, February 22nd. A form for recording pledges is attached. If your family/friends prefer, a flat contribution in lieu of pledging per lap can be made. The maximum number of laps permitted is ten. If a pledge of $1 per lap is made, the total pledge is $10. Students may begin collecting pledges now. All pledge sheets must be turned in by February 22nd, the day of the walk-a-thon.
Students who have a Team Billy T-shirt are asked to wear them for the walk-a-thon. If your child does not have a Team Billy T-shirt and would like to order one, please contact Deanna Angevine, our business manager at Pace.
Thank you for your continued support of the Brown Family!
Sincerely yours,
Ms. Sulewski
