SRP Finale!
It's hard to believe that Wednesday marks the end of this year's Summer Reading Program! We hope all our participants had as great a time as we did!

Following Wednesday's Top Reader Reception at 5:30 p.m., this year's SRP Finale will feature a Magic Variety Show with Steve Johnson at 6 p.m.! Steve will combine magic, comedy, and juggling into one entertaining show for the whole family!

The library's annual Ice Cream Social will follow the show, as will the raffle drawing for the adults who participated in their own SRP by logging the books they've read these past few weeks and putting their names in for the gift baskets on display at the library. If you're a participant who can't make it to the raffle drawing, no worries - we will notify winners the following day.

Thanks to all who took part in this year's programming!

Book Logs are Due on Saturday!

Summer Reading Program book logs are due on Saturday, August 6th at 2:00 pm. Readers who have recorded books will be invited to a Top Reader Reception and will receive front row seats for our SRP finale on Wednesday, August 10th, featuring the Magic Variety Show with Steve Johnson.

Email the titles and authors of the books you want to log to cthorenz@rcls.org with "book log" in the subject heading. Please include the child's name and grade. Logs will be tallied at the library.

Adult Summer Reading Program is Still Going On!

Keep reading for your chance to win a gift basket! Just read a book or listen to an audio book. Each time you do, we will give you a chance to win one of our beautiful Summer Reading gift baskets. Entering is free, fast and easy. Just visit the library for your chance to win.

Winners will be announced at our finale on August 10th. Good luck and keep on reading!

Board of Trustees Seeks New Members

Now you have a chance to help the library transform into an even better resource, gathering place, and community center by running for a spot on our board of trustees. All that's required is a commitment to attend one meeting a month and help our dynamic, energetic board keep the library on its path toward success.
Our election, this year, will be held on September 20. Interested candidates must be residents of the Town of Shawangunk and the Wallkill Central School District. They are required to have petitions filled out with 50 signatures from other library district residents by the beginning of September.

If you're interested in learning more, contact Lisa Palmer at lpalmer@rcls.org, or at 895-3707.
