Library Website
Gets a Facelift
Those who have visited the library's website will notice a new look, along with the same great resources that are now easier than ever to access!

The makeover now allows users to view the site in its entirety, whether using a computer, phone, or tablet. At the same time, all the helpful information that was available before is more accessible than ever, including links to databases that can help users do everything from studying for the SAT (or GRE... or MCATS... or Civil Service tests) to creating a resume, learning a new hobby, and much, much more!

Please bear with us in these next couple of weeks as we work out some of the kinks that may result from the switchover. Thank you for your patience!
Strategic Plan Is in the Works
This year the library will be creating its five-year strategic plan, which will help guide us along the path toward future goals.

What are our future goals? Well, that's totally up to you! We want what you want - that's why you'll soon be seeing either a survey or request to participate in focus groups to help our board of trustees determine how best the library can provide you with the services and materials you need.

Our goal in this is to make sure we're serving our community in the best way possible. So stay tuned... we'll be requesting your input soon!
Coming Soon!
Mohonk Preserve Passes!
Spring is a beautiful time to enjoy the local flora and fauna and to take advantage of Wallkill Public Library's new Mohonk Preserve passes! These passes, as well as our passes to Mid-Hudson Children's Museum, Museum Village  and Storm King Art Center, are a gift from our generous Friends of the Library group.

Our Mohonk Preserve passes allow free access to 70 miles of Mohonk Preserve hiking, biking, climbing trails and carriage roads. Our four passes may be used by Wallkill Public Library patrons who are 18 years or older for hiking, biking, rock climbing, horseback riding, cross country skiing and snowshoeing - one pass per person. Children under 13 years old are free and do not need passes when accompanied by an adult pass holder.

Passes can be borrowed for three days, are first come, first served and cannot be reserved. Call the circulation desk at 895-3707 to inquire about availability today!

New Yorker Joanna Matthews is rapidly approaching 60 and desperate for a change. The last remotely daring thing she did -- jumping into an unconventional marriage with her best friend Brian -- happened 20 years ago. Now, their life's comfortable, if routine. Joanna craves more and begins pursuing her long-deferred dream: owning and running a bed & breakfast. She's captivated
Author, Holly Caster

Looking for the Perfect Mother's Day Gift?
Shopping for mom can be easy this year with the help of Amazon Smile. First-time users of Smile can find instructions here. Choose Wallkill Public Library as your charity, and shop away. Amazon Smile will direct you to dozens of gift ideas, and a portion of your purchases will benefit the library!

Don't forget to check out the library's own collection of gift cards available now at the circulation desk, as well. The $25 cards are available for Barnes & Noble, Amazon.com, and ShopRite (though that might not make the best gift for Mother's Day). A portion of each sale goes to the Friends of the Library to support library programs and needs. Ask for more information at the circ desk.
