Library cards an essential school supply
Registering your little one for kindergarten at Ostrander at the end of the month? Then it's time to get your new student a library card!
A representative from the Wallkill Public Library will be at the school during the hours of registration on at least one out of the three days of the event (Jan. 26, 27, and 28). Look for our table, where you can sign up for a card right then and there and also pick up a calendar and some flyers for upcoming events.
If we're not there the day you are, drop by the circulation desk at the library or register online at your convenience.
Getting your child a card at the library not only opens up a whole new world of books and programming to her, but gives her access to valuable educational online tools like TumbleBooks, BrainPOP Jr., and much more - all for free!
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to the library at 895-3707 or through our online contact form.
Yoga for Kids healthy break from screens
Wellness, fitness, and sports will be this year's Summer Reading Program themes, and the library will be getting into gear early with a special yoga program!
We're lucky enough to have our very own certified yoga instructor on our staff - Lori Mullooly is a library technician by day and yoga teacher extraordinaire by night. She'll guide ages 8-12 through a series of restorative poses guaranteed to leave participants calm and rejuvenated!
The event takes place at 3:45 p.m. Jan. 27. Sign up now - space is limited!
