Beloved community leader will be remembered by all 
Stewart with fellow Library Board member Elaine Schultz.
Stewart Crowell, well known throughout the community and particularly at the library for the gigantic roles he played in bettering the hamlet, passed away suddenly Monday night.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the Millspaugh Funeral Home in Walden.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Wallkill Reformed
Stewart and his lovely wife Carolyn attend the library's 2010 anniversary ball, in 1920s-style regalia. 
Church, 45 Bridge St., Wallkill. A luncheon will follow at the church's fellowship hall. The library will be closed to allow employees to attend the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Rule Thrift Shop for their Snackin' Kids Club, c/o Wallkill Reformed Church, PO Box 54, Wallkill, NY 12589.
Anyone who made even the briefest of acquaintances with Stewart admired and respected him. Those who knew him better loved him. Library director Mary Lou Carolan said: He was a kindred spirit, a huge presence of a man, and a true gentleman, a simple, generous and infinitely kind person who loved his community, this library, and especially his incredible wife Carolyn and his wonderful children Lynne and Brian and all his grandchildren.
Please keep his love and light in your hearts and in his honor bring it out into your community, love your family and friends with all your heart. Don't let his light leave this earth.

 

Coming up at the Wallkill Public Library 
Monday: Yoga for Kids is offered at 4 p.m. The Wallkill Senior High School Student Art Reception will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. at the library. The Library Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. in the community room of Town Hall.
Tuesday: Book Buddies is offered at 10:30 a.m. Books Alive! rehearsal takes place at 3:30 p.m. in fellowship hall at Wallkill Reformed Church.
Wednesday: Mommy and Me meets at 10 a.m., followed by Toddler Story Time at 11 a.m. Kinder Art Club meets at 2:15 p.m. The Teen Anime Club will get together at 3:30 p.m. Books Alive! rehearsal is held at 3:30 p.m. in fellowship hall at Wallkill Reformed Church.
Thursday: The Knit and Crochet Club meets at 6:30 p.m.
Friday: Part 1 of 2PartArt Club meets at 4 p.m. to start Suminagashi Marbled Paper projects.
Art reception set for Monday at library
The Wallkill Woman's Club and the Wallkill Public Library will be hosting the Wallkill Senior High School Student Art Show Monday from 5:30- 7 p.m. at the library.
The annual exhibit is a chance to showcase the artwork of creative and talented local students. All are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.
Yoga for Kids series starts this week
Little ones need to relax and unwind, sometimes, too. You can teach yours valuable lessons on de-stressing with Yoga for Kids, starting Monday.
Join Miss Rona at 4 p.m. in the community room of Town Hall as she instructs ages 6 and up on the fundamentals of this healthy pastime.
Cost is $10 per week. Three sessions have been scheduled - Feb. 10, 17, and 24. Registration is required.
Chicken dinner to benefit the library
A chicken dinner fundraiser will be held Sunday, March 2, from 5-7 p.m. at the Wallkill/Shawangunk Clubhouse, located at 200 Birch Road in Wallkill.
This is part of the Troop 76 Eagle Scouts' efforts to benefit the Wallkill Public Library.
Tickets are $15 each (ages 5 and under get in for free) and are available at the library, or by calling Donna at 742-8461, or John at 742-0723.
