Coming up at the Wallkill Public Library Tomorrow the library will be holding its Third Annual LEGO Build-a-Thon! The popular event will take place from 1-3 p.m. at the Town Hall community room.
Also coming up at the library: Monday: The Mini Art Club meets at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday: Quilters and other handcrafters are welcome to stop by and work on their projects during Textile Tuesdays at the Town Hall community room between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Book Buddies meet at 10:30 a.m. Crazy Caps Story Time takes place at 4 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., a presentation on the famous Tuskegee Airmen will take place (see below). Wednesday: Mommy and Me meets at 10 a.m., followed by Toddler Story Time at 11 a.m. The Art Club meets at 4 p.m. to try their hands at OP Art-line designs. The Quilters' Circle meets at 6:30 p.m. Thursday: Pre-K LEGO Building will be offered at 1:30 p.m. The Knit and Crochet Club meets at 6:30 p.m. Friday: Class will be in as Musikgarten starts with morning lessons for infants and toddlers and an afternoon class for preschoolers. LEGO Camp registration available now! All who participated in last year's summer LEGO Camp enjoyed the experience so much, we've invited Play-Well TEKnologies back!
You can register online on Play-Well TEKnologies' website. Camp starts July 15 and runs through July 19. Just like last year, your child's imagination will run wild with over 100,000 LEGOs! Attendess will build engineer-designed projects such as boats, bridges, mazes and motorized cars, and use special pieces to create their own unique design! They'll explore the endless creative possibilities of the LEGO building system with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor. This is an ideal way to prepare young builders for the challenge of Engineering FUNdamentals. |

Pancake fundraiser tomorrow You can support the Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center's Reach Out and Read Program by treating your family to a pancake breakfast at Applebee's tomorrow!
The Newburgh restaurant will offer seatings at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. for the event. Cost is $7 per person. Reach Out and Read prepares children to succeed in school by partnering with doctors to prescribe books and encourage families to read together. The Friends' Used Book Shop is supporting the effort by donating children's books to the cause! You can purchase tickets or volunteer for the event by calling 220-3156 and mentioning the Wallkill Public Library! |

Celebrate Black History Mo. with program You can learn more about the famous Tuskegee Airmen Tuesday, when a Tuskegee chapter president will be at the library to discuss the legendary African-American pilots.
These prestigious members of the Armed Forces were part of the "Tuskegee Experiment" in the 1940s, which was an Army Air Corps program to train African Americans - who had hitherto been banned from flying in the U.S. military - to operate and maintain combat aircraft. The Tuskegee Airmen included pilots, navigators, bombardiers, maintenance and support staff, instructors, and all the personnel who kept the planes in the air. The program will start at 6:30 p.m. sharp. Seating is very limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. The program is suitable for ages 9 and up. |

Holistic care could benefit your child
 | | Fran Sussman | Parents Supporting Parents will present Fran Sussman of Holistic Services, Inc., 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7 to discuss the benefits of holistic care for children with special needs.
Ms. Sussman has been in holistic care since 1988 and in private practice since 1993, studying with some of the foremost thinkers in holistic medicine today. She works with children of all ages as well as adults in her Orange County offices.

Music program meets at library in March A representative from Musikgarten will be offering classes Fridays at the Wallkill Public Library beginning March 1.
Musikgarten helps young children develop a love of music and the skills to play it through a series of activity-filled lessons designed for your child's specific age. Classes for infants and toddlers will be offered at 10:30 ad 11:30 a.m. those days. A preschool class will meet at 12:30 p.m. The 10-week tuition of $125 includes a CD, songbook, and an instrument or game cards for the family to enjoy at home. The registration fee is $35 per class.
