Spotlight on Jason Hyatt
Man behind the scene at ImaginOn a master librarian, and a viola player to boot!
Jason at the front desk!
Native Charlottean and Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra alumnus, Jason started playing the viola at age 9 and studied privately with Charlotte Symphony violist Nancy Levine throughout high school. He received his BA and MLIS degrees from UNC-Greensboro, where he was a member of the university's symphony orchestra and viola ensemble.
Jason has worked for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library since 2003 and is currently the Library Manager at ImaginOn: The Joe and Joan Martin Center. He is thrilled that ImaginOn offers a regular home for the Musical Petting Zoo, where young people have opportunities to try out real instruments. Though his days as a violist have come to an end, he remains a big fan of orchestral music and a strong supporter of music education.
