Dear
Its been a busy month on the Canadian Sports scene and there are many great results that bode well for the upcoming Olympics and the 2013/2014 season!!
Some outstanding performances by Kallie Humphries all year and a Gold at World Championships; Kelsey Serwa and Murielle Thompson - Gold and Silver, and Chris Del Bosco - Gold in Skier Cross at World Championships; Snowboarders Mark McMorris and Robby Balharry strong showings all season; Rosanna Crawford taking her season to a whole new level for Biathlon Canada; Christine Nesbitt with Gold in the 1,000 meters at Speedskating World Champs; Alex Harvey, Devon Kershaw and the whole cross country squad primed for Sochi and the list goes on.
There are still lots of great events to come and I'm looking forward to following the National Championships in all disciplines. It is a great time to be involved in Sports in this country and I feel pretty blessed.
On that note...What are The Characteristics of Peak Performance?
Cheers, Jan

| What are the Characteristics of Peak Performance? | |
|
Peak performance has been defined as a state of superior functioning whose characteristics are clearly focused attention, lack of concern with outcome, effortless performance, perception of time slowing down, and a feeling of supreme confidence (Brewer, Van Raalte, Linder, & Van Raalte, 1991).
Anyone striving for excellence is always trying to find that "magic formula" that will help them achieve Peak Performance. Let's examine some of the characteristics that will help you get there.
When elite athletes describe their "Peak Performances" to me they all seem to have shared these critical elements.
- A Sense of Mission - they all described a clear goal of what they wanted to achieve and a real determination to get there!
