A Taste of Italy
Thursday night, an Atrium full of foodies and families alike were treated to a fun Italian culinary experience put on by students from our Foods program. Diners sampled original Trio Bruschetta and fresh ravioli starters and a choice of three main courses featuring fresh halibut, Safron Risotto, and Pesto Linguini. All meals were capped off beautifully with Tiramisu and Hazelnut Sorbet.

Our students had been working for weeks developing their recipes and working closely with Alumnus Louis Saitowitz, an accomplished sous chef. All the pastas and sauces were made from scratch and each plate was skillfully presented.  Our students did all the hard work - cooking, hosting and serving with flair and beautiful smiles. Special thanks to music teacher, Johnny Seguin, on his fine piano accompaniment to this fine evening.

Congratulations to all our Foods students and Ms. Watson for another unforgettable Lion's Den.

A Day of Pink at King David
King David rolled out the pink carpet in honour of National Pink Shirt Day! Each grade spent part of the morning creating a web of words and string, sharing compliments with each other. Ms. Watson's students produced a huge number of cookies ready for pink icing - a sweet way to finish the lunch break!

Where in the World is Rabbi Siegel?
Since leaving King David, Rabbi Danny Siegel has continued with his personal journey. He spent months volunteering in Thailand where he taught primary school children and cared for elephants. He also travelled through South East Asia and most recently was heading to Africa to visit the Ugandan Abayudayan Jewish community with whom King David has had a special bond over recent years. Rabbi Siegel was such a big part of King David for five years and we miss him and wish all the best.

Process of Puppetry
"Making the puppets was so cool, I had no idea they would be so funny to look at in the final performances!"
                                             ~ Matty, Grade 9

This term, Miss Ralph's Grade 9/10 Drama class has been studying puppetry. A few weeks ago, they unveiled their final performances to an audience of fellow students and teachers. Their shows ranged from an educational birth video, to a parody of Twilight and High School Musical, to a shadow puppet horror movie. It was truly entertaining, well done Grade 9/10!
