Why choose King David?
You should choose King David because you want a high school that is as much about excellence in education, as it is about community and family. You should choose King David because you want a small school where you can get the support to succeed, the values to guide and the confidence to lead. You should choose King David because you want a school that vibrates with the energy of fellow students seeking knowledge, exploring their Jewish heritage -- and having fun doing it. No other high school in the province will challenge the cultivation of talents or interests in the intellectual, artistic, spiritual and physical realms - along with the Jewish self.

Click here to download an application or contact the admissions office (604) 263 9700 x 202 / dappelbaum@kdhs.org and a package will be mailed to you.

A Day on Cypress Mountain
This week, King David Grade 8 students took to the slopes of Cypress Mountain for a day of snow tubing. Who knew that snow could be such fun!

Local Architects
Today the Grade 8 Art class received a challenge: how to make the largest and strongest structure possible using newspaper tubes. Each group resolved the problem in a unique way - with amazing results.

Getting Ready ... Not to be Missed!
In March, King David will be partying like it's 1999 with the musical The Wedding Singer! Preparations are well underway, with the acting cast  learning lines and dance moves (namely the Robot), and the behind-the-scenes team working on everything from wedding chair decorations to giant cardboard love hearts! The Drama room is a hive of activity as we gear up for this exciting event!

Teachers Studying Abroad
During the winter break, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Israel, along with my colleague Dorin Eilon- Heiber, to attend an educational seminar at Yad Vashem's International School for Holocaust Studies. It has been over twenty years since I last visited Israel.

While growing up in Winnipeg, I attended a private Jewish school and took the requisite Jewish History and Holocaust courses. Upon graduating from high school, I studied for a year in Israel, again with Jewish History Courses as part of the curriculum. I could not have anticipated the experience that I would have during the 10 day Yad Vashem seminar. It was one of the most profound experiences I have had in my 25 years as an educator.

Do you have Kippot Looking for a Good Home ...?
King David will be happy to take care of them! Kippot from past weddings or Bnei Mitvah that are taking up space in a drawer, will be greatly appreciated.

Please drop them off at the school office.
