Update From the Mill City Commons Membership Coordinator

The Program Committee finalized the September calendar -- a PDF version is available via the link near the bottom of this email in MCC Upcoming Events. You may also go directly to our website www.millcitycommons.org and find all of our upcoming events under the Calendar tab. Many thanks to all of our members who bring the ideas, connections and the followup required to make our calendar work.  It looks like a very busy month!  We're also working on the October and November calendars so if you have program ideas, let us know.  Hope to see you at an upcoming event soon!

Scheduled for today - Postponed!

Please note: this tour has been postponed.

News from Members

MCC member Peggy Lucas wants to know whether any members would like to sit together at the Mill City Farmer's Market Harvest Social on September 13 from 1:00-4:00 pm.  This benefit supports healthy foods and local farmers.  If you would be interested in joining Peggy Lucas and Penny Hunt, please email Peggy no later than Friday, August 21 so that a group reservation can be made.

MCC member Nancy Verdier wants members to know that the "Make It Pawsible" fundraiser organized by her daughter, Melinda Weir, reached its goal!  Three low-income disabled people from Minneapolis will receive scholarships for free dog obedience training classes at the Animal Humane Society.  There was a good turnout of people from our St. Anthony Main and Northeast Minneapolis area - in spite of the stormy, rainy weather on the night of the event. Melinda plans to host this heartwarming fundraiser again next year.

MCC member Ken Searl wants members to know that there is free yoga in Gold Medal Park on Saturdays from 8:00-9:00 am through September 12 sponsored by the Downtown Minneapolis Neighborhood Association (DNMA).
