Update From the Mill City Commons Membership Coordinator

Tomorrow the MCC Caregiver Support Group launches.  If you are in a short-term or long-term caregiving role or have been a caregiver in the past, I encourage you to join this group.  The Support Group was developed by MCC members who are committed to providing support and encouragement to other caregivers in our community.  Caregiving can often lead to isolation - not only because a caregiver is busy caring for someone, but also a feeling that no one else quite understands what they are going through.  Although each caregiving situation is unique, caregivers can give and receive support based on their own experiences.  If you are interested in joining us for the six session summer pilot or if you'd like to start in the fall, you can contact me at the MCC office.

Caregiver Support Group Launch
Wednesday, June 17, 1:30 - 3:00 pm
Cobalt Condos 2nd fl Community Room, 45 University Ave SE
Mill City Commons members have created a Caregiver Support Group and invite other caregivers to join them.  This guided discussion group with professional facilitation was created to support MCC members who are or have been in a caregiving role. Caregiver Support Group members will share experiences, issues and concerns about caregiving as well as give and receive support around this critical role.  Today's meeting will launch a three month pilot, meeting the first and third Wednesday each month from 1:30-3:00 pm at two alternating locations in the neighborhood.  Participants will be asked to pay $60 for the three month (six sessions) pilot regardless of how many sessions they are able to attend. Participants of the pilot will determine the ongoing format of the group. Confidential scholarships are available - contact Membership Coordinator Mary Texidor.  To enter Cobalt, buzz Tamra Nelson at the Cobalt Security Phone, take the elevator to the 2nd fl, turn right and walk to the end of the hallway.
