Update From the Mill City Commons Membership Coordinator

Yesterday our Board Chair, Lou Burdick, sent a press release about the connection between Mill City Commons and the upcoming National Senior Games.  Click here to take a look!  In last week's Musings we asked for volunteers to sign up to help during the Games and you delivered!  We only have three spots left to fill for Athlete Registration during the 11:00 am - 3:00 pm shift.  You can contact the MCC office if you are interested in learning more.  Thanks to all who have registered so far!

Our Turn: A Conversation for Women
Thursday, June 11, 3:30 - 5:00 pm
The Landings, 504 River St
MCC women, you are invited to attend Our Turn: A Conversation for Women.  This group meets every other Thursday alternating between morning and afternoon times.  Jeanne Ravich hosts guest speaker Loryn Follrathe.  Standing, walking, reaching, bending, balance - just a few of the moves our body makes every day and we take for granted.  Age and bad habits can lead to injury, weakness, or pain.  But it is not too late!  We can teach our bodies to use the correct muscles.  And with practice we can improve, strengthen, and keep on the move.

Loryn Follrath, MPT, will talk about movement and demonstrate some basics we can practice at home.  She also promised to stay for questions. Loryn has 20 years of experience with a variety of orthopedic and neurological diagnosis, which developed into a special interest in functional strength and balance. She works at Studio U (in uptown) with both private clients and small classes.

Please note, this event is limited to 20 participants.
