Tuesday, April 14, 1:00 - 3:30 pm
St. Anthony Main Theatre, Theatre #5, 115 Main St SE

Mill City Commons and Cynthia Froid Group host a special screening of the documentary, Zemene.  Ten-year-old Zemene is a spirited but hunchbacked child, afflicted with a severe curvature of the spine.  A chance encounter with an American doctor specializing in disfiguring spinal cases changes her life forever.   Dr. Rick Hodes embarks on a journey to save Zemene's life and aid other afflicted families.  The doctor's resulting humanitarian work in bridging cultural gaps also comes to light.  Zemene is a reminder of our universal humanity, and how one person's faith-based compassion can transform not only individual lives, but communities as well.  Watch the trailer here.  A reception with the filmmaker will follow the film in the River Room at the Aster Cafe.

Technology Workshop

American Academy of Neurology, 201 Chicago Ave, Training Room A
Online video streaming technology has given us a plethora of new ways to watch TV. Unfortunately, the options, while exciting, can be a bit confusing and overwhelming. But it would be even more unfortunate to get "left in the dust" with a clunky cable package that's expensive and not well suited to your watching preferences.  Come learn about Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, Slingbox, and more.  Brian Roemen from Backpack Tactics will lead this informative workshop.
