Executive Director Update

We still have a few openings for Thursday's Nosy Neighbor Tour of the Hydrology Lab located on Hennepin Island. We toured this research facility a few years ago, and I'm told it is a fascinating place. Our Nosy Neighbor Tours are so successful because members have both great ideas and great connections. Many thanks to MCC Member Peggy Lucas for making this Nosy Neighbor Tour possible! If you have an idea or a great connection, let me know, and I will forward to the MCC Program Committee. We appreciate our members and all of our fabulous neighbors!

Did You Know?

... that May is Older Americans Month?
This year the Administration for Community Living is focusing on injury prevention to help older Americans stay active and healthy.

Did you know that unintentional injuries result in 6 million medically treated injuries and 30,000 deaths each year?  It's important to know that the leading causes of injuries are falls, motor vehicle-related incidents, suffocation, medication overdose, and fires/burns.

Here are some tools that could help prevent unintentional injuries: a Home Fall Prevention Checklist and a Safety Tip Sheet.
