Executive Director Update

Forbes magazine recently published a series of articles titled "Welcome to Age 50" for Baby Boomers turning 50 in 2014. Included were articles on money, relationships, health and work and purpose. The last article included 10 caregiving tips. The #1 tip was:  "1. It takes a village. Go find one. Ninety percent of seniors, perhaps including your own parents, want to remain in their homes as long as possible. Connecting with the Village Movement is one way to fulfill that goal..."

The Village Movement is growing -- here's the PBS NewHour piece on Beacon Hill Village that ran last year. Thank you to all our members and supporters for your commitment to the Village Movement and Mill City Commons' sustainability!

In the Know!

As was mentioned in last week's Musings, we are going to be rolling out a new website at the end of January!  This past week we've been providing a web developer with the content for our new site, as well as adding a February event calendar.  This coming week's to-do list includes adding in our member directory and testing out areas of the new site.  In next week's Musings we'll share how to access the new members-only site.  If you've already registered for events on our current website, we'll take care of transferring your registrations to the new site.  We know there will be glitches as we move ahead so we ask for your patience and understanding as we transition from something old to something new!  We are excited for you to see and learn to navigate our new site soon!
