Executive Director Update
MCC Board Chair Marcia Townley is in Washington, D.C. today participating as part of the Village to Village Network's Advisory Committee. Marcia was one of 12 Village leaders chosen from across the country to bring guidance to Villages in development and to advise open Villages on growth and sustainability. Marcia has played a key role in launching and growing Mill City Commons as founder and chair. The Village to Village Network is lucky to have her expertise and energy on the committee! I look forward to hearing from Marcia when she's back in Minneapolis.
Technical difficulties delayed this week's newsletter. Please accept my aplogies.

A note from Patti Ries,
Mill City Commons
Program Coordinator
Did You Know?
Having a positive attitude can yield substantial benefits to your health! In a study highlighted in the WebMD article, "You're Only as Old as You Feel", study participants with positive views of aging were 44% more likely to fully recover from a severe disability than participants with negative attitudes and experienced slower rates of age-related decline in daily activities. Those with positive attitudes may be more likely to maintain healthy lifestyles, tend to their healthcare needs, take steps to sustain independence and experience lower levels of stress in life.
