Executive Director UpdateGive to the Max

In the next couple of weeks, you are going to see a lot of emails and promotions from deserving nonprofits. Thursday, November 15 is Give to the Max Day. Mill City Commons Board of Directors has generously committed $2300 as a challenge grant, to encourage others to support our commitment to "Prepare for the Future". We are committed to being here for members as we move into our 70's, 80's and 90's. You don't need to wait until November 15 to give. Starting November 1, donors who visit our project page on GiveMN.org will see the options to Make a Donation or schedule one for Give to the Max Day. Use this link to learn how.

Our website has been having technical difficulties today. We have not heard back from our webmaster as to why, but please be patient if you have trouble getting into the site. Thank you!      -- Linnea

Did You Know?

November has been designated as National Family Caregivers Month. This year's theme, "BELIEVE in yourself...PROTECT your health...REACH OUT for help", emphasizes the need for family caregivers to take care of their own health so that they can continue to be effective in their caregiving role. According to the Family Caregiver Alliance, "about 44 million Americans provide 37 billion hours of unpaid, 'informal' care each year for adult family members and friends with chronic illnesses or conditions that prevent them from handling daily activities such as bathing, managing medications or preparing meals on their own." While family caregiving can be deeply rewarding, family caregivers are at increased risk for health issues, stress, depression, fatigue, isolation, and financial problems.  Click here
