Support WUOT while you shop!

Thanks to the Kroger Community Rewards program, you now can support WUOT while you shop! Each year, Kroger donates millions of dollars through this program to community and nonprofit organizations. Simply register your Kroger Plus card in the program, then chose WUOT as your organization. After that, the station will receive a portion of the program's annual community donations. Follow these easy steps to get started:

   1. Visit https://www.kroger.com/communityrewards.
   2. Log in or create an account if you don't already have one. NOTE: Do you use your phone number at the store cash register instead of your Kroger Plus card? Call 800-576-4377 and select option 4 to get your Kroger Plus card number.
   3. Click on "Community," then "Community Rewards" near the top of the screen.
   4. In the "SEARCH" field, enter WUOT-FM Radio Center.
   5. Click "ENROLL" at the bottom of the screen. That's it!

Within seven to 10 business days of registering your Kroger Plus Card, you'll see the following message at the bottom of your Kroger receipts: "At your request, Kroger is donating to WUOT-FM Radio Center."

Not online? You also may visit the customer service desk at Kroger to enroll. WUOT's NPO # is 54962.

Thank you for supporting WUOT with the Kroger Community Rewards program!

Sponsors page of our websitePlease thank these organizations for supporting WUOT Public Radio!

Put the PUB in Public Radio Sept. 3!

We've been having a lot of fun putting the PUB in public radio this summer, and we hope you'll join us for the next event THIS THURSDAY, Sept. 3, at Suttree's High Gravity Tavern, 409 S. Gay St.

As always, beers, beverages and bowls (the noodle kind) benefit WUOT: Suttree's is generously donating 10% of the WHOLE day's profits to the station. That means if you purchase something between 3 p.m. and 1 a.m., you'll be supporting your favorite public radio station.

But that's not all: Your ears will benefit, too. That's because you'll get to listen to some great live jazz. Our very own Randy Fishman, host of WUOT's Last Set at Birdland (Fridays at 9 p.m.), plays a mean sax, and he and three other members of The Fish Skales will be playing tunes from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Please join us Thursday to enjoy brews, jazz and some great conversation for a great cause: WUOT Public Radio!

Opera, massages and more at WUOT Open House

Karen Lloyd and her daughters enjoyed Magpies cupcakes at the 2015 Open House
This year, WUOT welcomed more than 200 visitors to its annual Open House August 6! Attendees shared what keeps them up at night at the
"Tenn Words" booth with Matt Shafer Powell, tested their radio voices in the recording booth with volunteers Eric McAnly and Caroline Wasmund, enjoyed having their faces painted by Faces Gone Wild, relaxed with a chair massage by Aaron Searcy, LMT and explored the offices during a trivia hunt.

To top off the evening, weekend host Kevin Richard Doherty and Afternoon Concert's Whitney Dodds were joined by Linda Barnett, Sarah Fitch and Peter Johnson, with Eileen Downey on the piano, for some operatic fun. And of course everyone enjoyed the delicious treats provided by Holly's Eventful Dining, Three Rivers Market and Magpies.

Special thanks to Lou Smith, Devyn Caissie, Cody Smith, and Coni Mann for getting everything set up; and to Emily Jernigan, Jocelyn Wesolowski, Lucille Griffo, Robin Hill, Jo Lynn Cunningham, Karen Fieldsa, Carol Curry, Jean Hannan, Amanda Selvy, Cynthia Hackney, Susan Hawthorne and Connie Shih for helping out with activities and greeting visitors. WUOT is so fortunate to have so many dedicated volunteers. You all rock!

We hope you had as much fun as we did! If you want to share feedback about the event or have suggestions for future events and activities, please email Jennie Caissie or call 974-9558. Thank you for supporting WUOT!

Oliver Sacks: A Neurologist At The 'Intersection Of Fact And Fable'
