Live Jazz Joins Pubs 4 Public Radio

We've been having a lot of fun putting the pub in public radio this summer, and we hope you'll join us for the next event, which starts around 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at
As always, your BEERS benefit WUOT because Suttree's will donate a portion of the night's profits to the station. But this time, your EARS benefit too!

That's because you'll be listening to LIVE JAZZ. Our very own Randy Fishman, host of WUOT's Last Set at Birdland (Fridays at 9 p.m.), plays a mean sax, and he and three other members of The Fish Skales will provide some great tunes from 6:30-7:30.

Please plan to join us Sept. 3, to enjoy brews, jazz and some great conversation for a great cause: WUOT Public Radio!

Super Sleuths Solve K-Town Capers in WUOT Contest

One thing's for sure about Knoxville: This town loves A Prairie Home Companion

and folks love to write "who-done-its" to win some tickets!

WUOT received 24 entries for the K-Town Caper Contest. There were stories about kidnappings, murders, cemeteries...even a lesson on the plight of honeybees! In other words, a mysterious good time was had by all, especially the committee members who got to read these excellent adventures in K-Town.

Three stories stood out. And the winners are (follow the links to read the winning entries):

Congratulations! Each of these fine folks will receive two tickets to   A Prairie Home Companion's "The America the Beautiful Tour," dinner with the cast prior to the show and the chance to meet Garrison Keillor at the Tennessee Theatre Aug. 13.

Thanks to everyone who submitted a story for the contest, and special thanks to the Historic Tennessee Theatre and AC Entertainment for partnering with WUOT on this literary lovefest for Guy Noir, pulp fiction mysteries, and A Prairie Home Companion
