K-Town Caper Contest Kicks Off
 

A Prairie Home Companion's The America the Beautiful Tour is coming to the Historic Tennessee Theatre on Aug. 13, and WUOT wants to send you to the show, invite you to have dinner with the cast and give you the chance to meet the Man in the Red Shoes himself: Garrison Keillor! But first, you have to solve a mystery: The K-Town Caper.  So put on your trench coat and get out that magnifying glass because this time, you're the gumshoe!

Calling all artists! WUOT is looking for YOU!
 
mug clip art Share your creative, artistic side with WUOT Public Radio and your design just might end up on one of our fund drive mugs! You have the chance to become a lasting part of WUOT when you enter the fifth annual Artist Mug contest! We're looking for an original image that shows your love of WUOT, its programs or the station's home in East Tennessee. If your design is selected, we'll feature it on the coffee mug for the fall 2015 or spring 2016 fund drive.

We welcome all styles of artwork, from cartoon to watercolor to photography - as long as it ultimately can be put into a high-resolution digital format. The winning design will be featured on the mug thank-you gift that goes to hundreds of listeners as well as on our website and Facebook. The winning artist will receive significant on-air mentions during the fund drive, on our website and also in a large mailing.

Submissions will be accepted starting July 15. All entries must be received by 6 p.m. EDT Monday, Aug. 31.

They've led to some of the most innovative products for tech consumers, and we have a conference coming up in July, right here in Knoxville. On our next Dialogue, Andrew May and Arlene Gray of will join us for a preview of Codestock (#codestock2015). May and Gray are directors of the CodeStock Corporation and they'll be here to discuss what having a gathering like this means for tech in Tennessee.
