"Little Planet Pots" by Kerra

If you have visited the nursery recently you may have noticed more planted pots with figurines than usual. Kerra has taken this project under her wing and is using everything from Little Dinosaur and Star Wars Action figures to Barbies and Hot Wheels.
Kerra's Little Planet PotsShe has the imagination and vision to create these little mini scenes using various plants and recycled materials with different colors and textures.

The reStar Wars Plantersults are fun planters that will no doubt bring a smile to your face and possibly a bit of nostalgia.

Kerra says she most enjoys the reactions of our customers here at the nursery when they see the planters.

Now, we understand these quirky little scenes may be a bit too kitschy for some of you. But, as most of you know we are always striving to make our nursery a fun creative place to come visit. Dino Planter

Simon Says

July To-Dos

Simon Says

-Prune and deadhead Crape Myrtle, Salvia, Butterfly Bush to encourage repeat blooming

-Watering should be done in the morning to reduce chances of fungal problems

-Continue to watch out for tomato hornworm on tomato plants. Their appetite can be devastating! Look for black droppings on leaves look closely to find these wonderfully camouflaged caterpillers. Handpick off plant or apply Spinosad to control.

-Plan out your fall veggie garden. Next month will be the time to start those fall crops

(Simon is one of Chris and Courtney's three dogs. He loves dishing out wisdom he has picked up while spending time in the garden.)

Fountain Season

Rustic Water Drum

Come down to check out our summer selection of water features. The Water Drum (pictured) is a very easy maintenance fountain that produces a lot of noise for the buck! We also custom make many fountains, including disappearing water features that also have little maintenance due to the fact that they have no exposed water. Ask our fountain specialist Chris for suggestions on making your very own masterpiece!
Sincerely,
