Tropicals!
You might have noticed that we at Magnolia Gift and Garden are quite adamant about only stocking winter hardy plants. At times its been tough because customers are aware of these short comings, and still want to plant them as an annual. Well, this year we have made a few exceptions:
 | | Tropical Hibiscus |
- -Tropical Hibiscus- Three varieties of this stand out tropical plant are now available in one gallons. They are a lovely accents for those mixed plantings by the pool, giving you the tropical oasis feel for the summer.
-
- -Red Fountain Grass- If you attempt to treat these as a perennial, you might be sadly disappointed; You may spend your spring looking at a dead looking grass that doesn't rejuvinate until early summer, if at all. So as long as you as replace it yearly, you can fully enjoy its beauty and durability in the heat of the summer.
- -Giant Papyrus- Typically a pond plant, Giant papyrus can be a real statement in a pot with poor drainage in a shadier space. If given a big enough pot, by the end of summer, this plant has the ability to get ten feet tall with leaves the size of beach balls!

May To Do List
-If you have sprinklers they may need to be adjusted soon with the warmer temps approaching
-If you have not already, fertilize veggies and fruit trees with EB Stone Organics fertilizer
-Keep on blasting! Catch those pests early! Usually pests such as aphids which are very active this time of year can be easily controlled with a blast from the hose water! Really!
-Prune and deadhead perennials this encourages more blooms and fresh foliage on most plants
